Actually, in AC4 you can do that... it just takes... alot of hits to do it... and by lots I mean hundreds of times. On every arm weapon, they have a new stat that says "melee ability"

nono melee ability has to do with how effective the gun is as tracking enemies that get really close.

i'm not sure what you're talking about with hitting them a hundred times...

SEGA just did a bad job translating this particular stat's name. it was originally something closer to "approach tracking" rather than "melee" which could have possibly confused some people.

I can't get access to the link.. I'm assuming that it's a Kojima rifle if it's not a laser rifle. while the small things are pulse rifle

I've played AC4 for a couple of times already. At the moment, I'm using regulation 1.40 and being a gun nut, the first thing I did was look over the weapons.

Rifles: Geddamn, easy to use weapons with decent stats for PA striping and actual damage. Most of them can take on ACs from a fairly safe range without getting hit back.

BZs: Sub-par accuracy compared to rifles, but do good damage + stun when an opponent's PA is down.

Arm mounted GLs: The SAKUNAMI in particular can tear AP easy when an opponent's PA is down. I remember testing it on the AI and dealing over 10K worth of damage on a heavy when 2 rounds directly hit the opponent (I think I fought against Primal Light at that time).

Missiles: Much harder to avoid now compared to LR. Scatter missiles in particular seem to hit often at long range even when using QB.

Sniper Cannons: Well, I tried just 1. Feels like a long range, high speed BZ.

I haven't played online yet as it seems that there was no one alive in PSN for the past couple of days when I tried connecting to Japanese, US, and EU servers for some reason.
