Apologies again but i really haven't been in a writing mood lately. I've meant to edit those parts of Chapter Twenty that didn't seem so good but i just can't bring myself to actually do it.

I dunno but i've been feeling kinda weird lately. I'm sleepy most of the time, i walk listlessly around the house. Damn, i don't really know. Maybe there's just something wrong with me. I just hope this phase will pass soon.

Don't wait up for the next chapters. They'll be up when they're ready. More specifically, when i'm ready.

Not really, i just realized that i was bored, so i got out of the house and bought another AC model kit. It's been quite a while since i last built something. Just what i needed to get out of the rut.

Maybe you just feel pressured about the deadlines youve set. If that's so, then take a break from ficwriting for awhile. I've been meaning to ask this for some time now but just keep forgetting. Ive noticed that your fic and chapter titles have a certain RPG-ish feel to them (ex. Tears of a Raven, Emergence, Lost Falling Shards, Falling Shadows).

What's up with the title Wings of Tomorrow? Sounds kind of epic.

Lunar, you'll forgive me if i don't explain the title for now, as doing so will reveal quite a bit about the fic's plot. I'll give you a dissertation on it later but not now. It's a bit deep so i'll hafta prepare for it. Check back in a couple of days.

About "Wings", i'm getting to work on it again. Thankfully, inspiration has whacked me on the side of the head again. Looks like i just needed to get my bearings back on track. Don't have a clue on when it'll be up though.

Since I saw in Roh's fic topic that Grimlok said you're a real tome when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy stuff, would ya mind if I asked a question. I was watching my brother's Robotech DVD's a few days ago when I noticed some odd things in the episode where Max and Miriya get married.

In one scene, there were these battloids lined up and they were shooting lasers instead of bullets from their guns. Also, I saw lasers coming outta the nose of Max's fighter in the battle afterwards. Are those real or just mistakes? I mean are they really part of the weaponry or were they just put in for that episode?

So what's up with the delay? Not getting cold feet about the fic I hope. Please update it soon. Its been too long.

Okay, sorry that i've been neglecting the fic for the better part of two months now. Actually, i haven't really been neglecting it so much as just re-writing it a little bit at a time. I've been going through all the previous chapters and doing little bits of improvement and maintenance here and there as i've noticed a lot of errors, typos, misspeled words, crappy grammar and the whole shebang. I haven't posted the edited chapters yet but they'll be up soon enough. You guys really won't be missing much, aside from several rewritten scenes and a lot of dialogue changes but they won't be affecting the story that much.

Looks like i've got a lot to answer for. Okay, Lunar wants to know the story behind the title "Wings of Tomorrow". I didn't mean for it to sound epic (as she so eloquently states), insofar as just to sound cool. No, the title was influenced by several factors including a PS1 game, an anime intro song, a certain anime with a certain lead femme, my own fascination with Angels (yep, that little aspect of Hitomi also came from me) and my personal predilection for stuff with wings.

First influence is the scene, in the game Xenogears, in which Fei, Bart, Margie and Citan are standing on the balcony of the second floor of the Nisan Cathedral, overlooking the giant statues of a man and a woman with only one wing each. At first, the party mistakes them for Angels but upon closer inspection, they are really humans. This conversation then ensues:

Oh yeah, Lunar's second question about the Robotech. I take it that you're referring to these scenes?







Ordinarily, the VF-1 Valkyrie's GU-11 55mm triple-barreled smoothbore rotary gunpod is equipped with APFSDS (Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding-Sabot), HESH-I (High-Explosive Squash Head-Incendiary) or HEAP (High-Explosive Armor-Piercing) rounds, depending on the mission profile. Five-hundred round magazines are used to carry these munitions into battle. The Valkyries you refer to are part of the honor guard for Max Sterling and Miriya Parino's wedding. I'm not really certain but those lasers sure ain't part of the munitions package for the Valkyries. Most likely, their gunpods were modified with photonic adapters that enabled them to emit non-damaging light beams. Just think of them as part of the occasion.

The lasers you see coming from the nose fairings are basically a mistake. Tatsunoko Studios used several animation sub-contractors to help out with animating the fight scenes. Anime Friend was one of these and they were the ones responsible for the error. In reality, the fairings are where the primary infrared sensors are located and are also the attachment points for the legs when the Valkyrie switches to Battloid mode. However, when the Robotech pen-and-paper and tabletop RPGs came out, a lot of fans accepted the lasers as canon and listed them as weapons. Also, the official RObotech website lists the lasers as exclusive modifications for VF-1s manufactured aboard the SDF-1 as evidenced that the VF-1s built on Earth lack these lasers. However, they failed to mention where the displaced sensors and attachment points were relocated.

Pretty sharp eyes you've got there if you noticed those goofs. Hope i was able to answer your questions sufficiently.

I liked how u didnt give Jaden "god-like" piloting skills and showed that he had trouble with the pulverizer. The OB charge for the kill was a good touch to the battle.

wow...you've definetly been busy with the fic. I really liked the last three chaps. The pulvie kill was cool, I never would have thought of killing it that way. I guess the old suicide-blade-slash-or-we-both-die thing was becoming to cliche?
