I'm following/watching 4 anime series currently airing this season:

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (Suisei no Garugantia). Mecha, slice of life.
Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). Fantasy, action, mystery.
Hataraku Maou-sama!. Fantasy, comedy.
Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince. Mecha, comedy.

These are based primarily on 1st episode.

Could be my self-proclaimed bullshit story in progress, but instead I'll recommend Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere for now. It gets alot better in season 2.
