How hard is it to play this game with Occulus Rift? Can the controls be intuitive enough via joystick only?

Given the complexity of the game, I'm sure a keyboard is required, but that may be difficult to use with a VR headset on.

It takes a while to get used to, but as days went by, I never had to look at the keyboard anymore, and I'm typing pretty much anything and everything in-game while wearing the headset/goggles.

Joystick only? Doubtful. From what I remember, some players had some trouble key-mapping functions to their sticks. You might still need a HOTAS so you can use flight assist off mode properly though. I haven't modified my control scheme yet, and the default mouse setup I'm using is possibly the worst configuration for Newtonian-physics flight. I just use that mode for quick-turning and gliding around places.


Also, ended up forming a wing with Mjting and hunted down some criminal elements in another asteroid field.
