Just a tip for those who just leveled up, don't spread your proficiency points around. Just focus on a particular weapon set (Machine gun, pistol, rifle, melee, etc) and always increase it by 5s or 10s if you have them. For stats, you can spread them around as you want except for strength, which still needs to be increased by 5s or 10s depending on the equipment you need.
Also, choose as early as possible what weapons you want to specialize in. :p
