The emphasis on toe movement should help you push off faster on the footwork, and will eventually speed up your lunge. The callouses should soften up after a couple of weeks, but they'll maintain their thickness.
Rave: Sparred in boxing earlier today. Lasted three rounds at full speed without running out of air.

Rave: Ippo was right - slamming a shot in the guy's ribs does force them to stop moving even on a block.
Rant: Don't have a decent follow-up to the body blows.
Rave: He taught me how to throw a respectable ducking uppercut, and the session's helping me think up possible combos as follow-ups to the jabs.
