Alien life? Yes. Alien intelligence? Not so much. Fermi Paradox puts forth a VERY good argument, with the things we've observed so far.
There is one interesting thing to consider: that Humans are the "First Ones" of the Universe. Wouldn't it be freaky if we're the most advanced creatures in the galaxy, much less the cosmos.
Heh... humans as Great Old Ones... almost as awesome as it would be sad. Not saying humans can't survive being alone, but if we are alone, it's going to be lonely.
