I've done that too by using PS3 media server (copy the files directly into the PS3), but not all video formats can be played on the PS3 sadly. 
On porn, you can't exactly skip to your favorite scene, so you'll have to endure the senseless story before you get to see some action much like watching a bad movie :p.
