A quote from "Hamlet" by Shakespeare:
Lord Polonius
This business is well ended.
My liege, and madam, to expostulate
What majesty should be, what duty is,
Why day is day, night night, and time is time,
Were nothing but to waste night, day and time.
Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit,
And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief: your noble son is mad:
Mad call I it; for, to define true madness,
What is't but to be nothing else but mad?
But let that go.
So pardon my lack of tact, but normally I neither care nor read articles taking pro or anti-gaming stance. With that said, is there really a need to create a new topic on something as earth-shatteringly important as a prolix essay on a virtual nobody injecting false importance into his hobby?
I'm a girl and I do both role playing and video games. I've never been bullied or told off because I play games. I'd attribute the former to social ineptitude or growing up with the wrong type of people. I've never encountered a debate on a major media outlet over this either, and lastly it's nobody's business what I choose to do with my leisure time so long as it isn't illegal.
I want the 15 minutes I spent reading that piece of intellectual narcissism back.
