How do you set your suspension settings for the 'optimal drift' on the AE86? I haven't gotten it yet so I can't test anything. Should the front be stiffer? Or the back?
anywayz, I decided to make the front spring rate stiffer (I'm using the "original" suspension found on tuner village)... that's my preference since AE86's weight distribution is 53% front and 47% rear.
try different settings... like the front spring being higher than the rear by 2.0 rate. also, when you increase the power, you should also adjust the suspension accordingly (to stabilize the car during drifting since high power engines can affect the car 's balance)
example: (my old "friendly" setting)
AE86 (tuned to 168hp: w/ stage 1 weight reduction; sports muffler, NA tune-up stege 1, port polish, engine balancing, close transmission, sport clutch, sport flywheel; 2-way LSD; tires N2)
suspension - original
spring rate: F=8.0 R=6.0
ride height : F=113 R=130
shock absorbers: F=4 R=4
camber angle: F=2.0 R=1.0
stabilizers: F=4 R=4
*can reach speeds about 187kph
