At 21 years old, Shiro Amada from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team is the oldest protagonist in any Gundam show.
At 13 years old, Uso Evin from Mobile Suit V Gundam is the youngest protagonist in any Gundam show. It's also rumored that he's the great grandson of the Red Comet, Char Aznable himself because his mother's last name is Miguel, said to be a descendant of Char's last lover, Nanai Miguel, from Char's Counterattack.
Three of the four mecha designers credited on Char's Counterattack went on to direct their own anime series.

Yutaka Izubuchi - RahXephon
Koichi Ohata - Burst Angel
Yoshinori Sayama continued designing on shows such as Patlabor, Cowboy Bebop and Izubuchi's RahXephon.
