I have found one signle use for the flamethrower:
Anti-tank weapon.
If any tank is overheated, and tries to boost or OB, it's almost an assured long-lasting EN problem for them. Granted it can be hard to do this to the BOAR/BOAR2 tank legs because of their boosting mobility, but if any tank has a gen-bust with a flamethrower constanty on it, the match goes to the one tossing the flames.
You'd need a pretty big radiator and low calorific generator to resist it.
