I was dismayed at how chapter 18 turned out. Everything was great but I was still dismayed.
Not with Jaden's decision not to continue. No, that was a wise move on his part. His views of love and sex are admirable and shows a good deal about his character and morality. It's actually refreshing to see a guy who doesn't jump at the chance for sex. I say that Jaden did the right thing, given the circumstances.
What I'm dismayed at was Hitomi's overly casual attitude and immature actions in that chapter. I'd have thought she'd be able to control her desire better, but considering she's just out of her teens and still unsure about her feelings for Jaden, I'll hold my tongue for now and see what happens next.
It looks like there'll be some rough sailing for our two heroes in the next chapter. Nice going on this one, Fox. I really thought they were going to do "It" but i breathed out a sigh of relief at the end. Unlike two certain people, I'm glad that the ending turned out like that.
Fireflies in Summer was a nice piece of work, by the way. Max and Miriya really are a perfect match. If you do expand the fic and turn it into a series, could you make the next one a Rick/Lisa pairing? I'm just so hooked on the angsty relationship they have.
