Nice idea, is all I can say. I'm looking forward to that prologue.
A good introduction would be to gradually set the scene for the rest of the fic. You don't have to introduce the main characters immediately, (think FFXII), but gradually through the first five or so chapters. Just try to do a quick run-down on the current situation of the world then move into the rest of the fic.
