Digicams are obviously for the more casual pictures. But they can take great photos that are on part with some SLR shots as well, if the person holding the camera knows what they're doing. I've seen my friend take very nice panoramas, and capture great-looking saturated color pics by just playing around with the settings.

I took another night shot after the fireworks competition tonight (today's the last day). The glowing blue bridge at the background is Lion's Gate Bridge, Vancouver's version of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Edit (for technical blahblah): Just realized that the image quality isn't as good as the previous night shots because this picture was taken at auto mode, 400 iso. Normally compacts only produce decent (printable) image quality at 200 iso or less. Basically iso = sensitivity setting to light

wait til you encounter the herbs....hoo hoo hoo
Jake if you have some free time i recommend watching this:
Escape to Canada Part 1 of 9 --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unZa9IgT0eo
It talks alot about Vancouver...and what's good is you're already there!
*time warp edit*
***oh lol i'm already there too!***
Seriously though, it is very interesting....it really shows that Canada is the land of the free unlike US who lives in the illusion of it...*for now*...US needs to wake up...Canada needs to step up! If the herb will be legalized...IT WILL TAKE PLACE in CANADA! Then maybe it'll have a ripple effect throughout the world...

LOL I remember this one. You had to go through a lot of Scotch tape and twist-ties a happy Japanese person left for you just to get one half of the inner package open.
