[OLD] Photo gallery now up!

Alright, since I've heard many of you wanting a cleaner solution to our picture request thingamajig, I decided to use a photo gallery, by using the very popular <a href='http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php' target='_blank'>Coppermine Photo Gallery</a> software.

You can find the new gallery at <a href='http://ravenrepublic.net/gallery/index.php' target='_blank'>http://ravenrepublic.net/gallery/index.php</a>.

If you'd like your gallery to be sorted in a certain way (alphabetical, dates ascending, etc.) or have a different picture up top, just PM me and I'll change it.

Unfortunately, the answer to jonevangelist's question is yes. I apologize if I'm asking you guys to register for things left and right, but that's the limitation of InvisionFree: they don't allow for us to connect or 'bridge' the gallery to our forums, unlike in ACO where members' accounts are automatically linked to the function (or at least I think they're connected). There is no such thing as a free lunch, after all. In this case, there's no such thing as a free but hassle-free forum.

That's unless you guys are willing to move yet again to another forum like IPB or PhpBB, which I don't think many would like. Either way, we have to sacrifice something.

The category of Armored Core should be kept clean. We'll use that for AC pics, and AC pics only.

When uploading files, please take the time out to put a descriptive title and/or description for your pictures.

EDIT: For now, registrations are set to admin validation. If you're not yet validated, please be patient. I will check on the gallery everyday.

EDIT 2: Concerning your own works of art: I'm still deliberating if I'll allow your works to be posted there. Originally, this was birthed from the idea of cleaning up the picture thread only. I mean, your topics in <a href='http://ravenrepublic-forums.cjb.net/index.php?showforum=13' target='_blank'>The Sketchbook</a> still work well enough, don't you think? But I might allow it in the future. We have about 1.5GB of space with the free webhost I used for that.

Is the photo gallery for AC pics only or can we also add tourney pics, meeting pics, artwork and model kit pics as well?

I've tried the link but its still not up. I can move most of the AC pics in my PB account to the gallery for that but it'd mean that i'll hafta change the links to get them to work.

EDIT: Did some more thinking. I guess it won't be too bad if we put up some tourney and meeting pics, as well as some model kit ones. The artwork, I'm still unsure about since it'll render the artwork section of the forums useless.

EDIT 2: OK. Just to clear some things up:

The Photo Gallery up in the menu leads to our photo gallery - the name of which is Armored Kodakan.

The forum previously known as The Gallery has been renamed to <a href='http://ravenrepublic-forums.cjb.net/index.php?showforum=13' target='_blank'>The Sketchbook</a> so that there'll be less cofusion.

Very cool on the gallery.

I'd like to point out some things though:

I think we should only allow images that are either related to armored core (pix of ACs, AC artwork, pix of AC model kits/AC toys) OR pix that concern the republic (pix from our events, pix of members, etc)

Reasons for those should be fairly obvious

Gallery back up. Bridging it over to IPB 1.3 was hard as hell, so I was unfortunately unsuccessful doing it. The best I could do was port over the gallery to here, exactly as it was before... which now that I think about it, isn't really a problem as few of us really do upload stuff anyways.
