AC: How Do You Train?

i train myself using the hero AC cascade range,the AC set up isn't that good and it's hard to beat opponents like evangel,it's really hard since the PHYTON has only 40 ammo and the missile barely hits the target and im not really gud at rockets..my plan is to keep using this AC till i master it(so far,im still having hard time) <_<

Guys, try defeating two AI ACs (at the same time) in versus mode without exploiting the flaws of their AI. This is great training because it really forces you to dodge while conserving ammo.

as for me,........wel i just keep on playing and changing my AC to get new ideas and tactics. of course i don't just keep on fighting evangel and daemon. i also vary my opponents to get some experience.

i tried that defeating 2 AIs at once,and it was really fun and really works for me,i also tried to defeat them using only pixie3 and LB2 laser blade and i won 3 out of 5,now i can really say that im a rank S raven,bwahahaha!<not ot brag though>

try fighting matches against crow, and see how fast you can beat him. hes a predictable opponent, and he goes down in seconds. My time right now is 16.5. *goes to beat that time*

Lol that's pretty fast. I on the other hand, when I do fight AI, usually waste time in the match trying to use tactical moves under fire. That way I can practice my composure under pressure. After all, keeping your wits about you is one of the keys in the game.

actually,i dont kill them fast,just wasting tym with strategies and something like that but wow your good with fast kills are you.i look forward to do battle with you...someday........

Scratch what I said in my previous post. I realized while driving home earlier that fighting AI creates consequences on your piloting skills. While you may get good with AI, in my opinion your skills for playing another person become dumbed down. On the other hand, fighting people not only improves your skills against people, but also against the AI as well, as the skill set needed for negotiating human opponents is much more comprehensive than the skill set needed for fighting AI.

It's really better to just play with another person. But of course, not everyone has that privilege, so I guess what you should focus on when forced to fight AI are the basics: booster control, jinking, aiming. Don't even try to 'strategize' against Evangel or Crow or Zinaida as it's all just one big damage race.

playing the ai will only teach you bad habits. it's the same with any game that has a strong competitive element. whether it's dota, tekken, ac, or cs, or whatever. the same principle applies.

it's best that you restrict your strategies when using the ai as a training dummy like the-raven-formerly-known-as-what-the-what-was-his-username-anyway said.

the closest thing to a human opponent that LR has to offer are the AI scripts of:

1. lyger <---likes to play a ranged game and uses weapons accordingly.
2. bolt <---somewhat similar to lyger in combat style. good for evasion practice and range control. also great for teaching noobs not to rush head-on especially if your opponent decked out with some of the most deadliest weapons in the game.
3. big fat daddy <---his AC has a lot of potential. pretty solid choice of weaponry. probably the best normal ranker the LR arena has to offer.

others can be used for specific training like dodging and aiming:

omega, vola-volant, and sundial are also great for honing your missile dodging skills. fake-genobee can also be used to hone your GL-dodging skills. fake-nineball is good for honing your vertical aiming skills at midrange (use an SW lock fcs for more difficulty).

AI training isnt bad, you just have to adapt if youre fighting with humans. and nobody is that stupid to use their vs ai tactics against humans, unless youre a newbee.

I remember AC3 when I could build an AC with my eyes closed, lol.

I would play it so much that I didn't even do it to train. Out of boredom, I found myself blading every single AC in the Arena. I even managed to blade Exile.

Ace was the only one I couldn't manage to blade, and for good OP-I reason, lol.
