Tried it too... Dual wielding them is... :ph43r:
Though I have some ideas in mind already, I'll post a design probably tomorrow

I prefer having a set of starter parts...
Core...
Booster...
Generator...
Radiator...
These are what I think of should be used next...
Ano na nga pala ang nangyari sa unang design challenge?

Um,weapon parts lang ba ang pwedeng gawing center ng design contest?Ndi ba pwede ang frame parts?
Anyway, kung weapons tlga...Another weapon i wanna see used is...The DEMON. Gosh, for a weapon that has such a cool name,i'm not sure it lives up to it...And it really looks sucky and all...Maybe try to make a design that makes use of the weapon and at the same time making it look cool and gel with the entire design? That would up a little challenge.=p

how about designing an ac that uses the starter radiator and it HAS to be an effective vs arena combatant?

Did that... It's not worth being called a challenge...
Just tune it to 10 Output and Use it with a Gull...
Boom! You're enemy wouldn't know you have a Starter Gen in your AC...

The radiator idea is feasible. If enough people agree with the idea, we'll push through with that as soon as the first design challenge is concluded.

nono... not the generator. the radiator.
use the starter radiator on a design while going against a human opponent without genbusting and/or overheating.
if you only play vs the AI then fight against someone like... sighthawk, zidaina or evangel in the arena without genbusting and/or overheating.
extra points if you don't use LEMUR2, LORIS or other banned parts. i could argue that using UA core for this situation would be kinda cheezy, but meh.
just thought of another design challenge that could be fun AND beneficial to the raven republic in general. build an OB AC using the starter boosters. that way, it would FORCE the user to learn to OB. at least, for range control. contest would use standard bans, of course, and run for like... a month. that way, it would give time for players to use their AC and see how much their OBing and overall playstyle improves.
to get a head start, UL, UL2, EOS and HELIOS are the best OB cores in the game, in that order, IMO. i would recommend limiting generator use to the LOTUS to force better energy management like i did, but whatever floats your boat. human vs would be the best way to practice, but if you mostly play vs AI then omega would be a good opponent to start off with. sighthawk, zidaina, and evangel are other good ones in the EX arena. if you wanna blow your credits in the VR arena during practice, then the nineball lookalike and the 2nd place opponent (i forget their names at the moment) are good ones to practice against. daemon too, if you feel good or lucky enough.

If you want a challenge make a viable Silky design, you can choose whether to dual wield or single. Now that's some tough ****.

SILKY? Tried that too. It works well on generators with high output (like KONGOH), low drain parts and EN weapon related OPs.
As for DEMON... I think I have an idea how it works, but I'm still not sure.
Hmm... Maybe I should try that Rad challenge too.

Alright if more of you agree to the radiator idea, I'll line that up for the next design challenge as soon as one more person submits a design for the Ettin Challenge.

How do you plan to set the poll?
Here or some other board like ACO or ACG or somewhere...
It think it's good if we set the poll somewhere else...
So that we can have the winner from what others think is the best design...
There's only a few of us here right now...

Standard Radiator Design... Looks more fun than the Ettin Challenge...
I really don't like the sound of that DPRifle's name...

I've been thinking about Flamethrowers and Bomb dispensers for our next themes in design challenges...
