i love long design posts. gives us a better idea of what your reasoning is behind your design.
i don't think the G91 & GULL combo is a good idea. it may not be so bad now, but things will start hitting the fan once parts start breaking. bad times, man. try switching your booster to VULTURE2 tuned to max boost heat and your generator to ANANDA with max cooling. this should take care of your heat problem and speed up your energy refresh. not to mention that you can dedicate frame tuning points to other things. if you still think heat's too much, then i suggest looking at the BIRDIE2. the max boost speed is a bit low, but it's great if you do a lot of boost hopping and jinking with this AC. you won't even feel the difference unless you do a lot of ground boosting. if speed's a problem then just switch to DINGO legs. weapons seem to be pretty good. you'll find the RL isn't as accurate against other AC's in LR, so you'll have to time your shots more. still a pretty good gun, though. i dunno if any of my suggestions will apply to your piloting style, but try it out for yourself. just my two cents.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Veilside: Oh yeah I didn't consider that part-break thing happening... when a part breaks, reduced cooling right? I guess it's something I'll have to live with... haha. Let's say a part breaks and the boosters start to cause self-heat, wouldn't the same happen to an AC equipped with LOTUS+GULL+ANANDA? This G91+GULL+R92 combo is probably better off than the LOTUS+GULL+ANANDA combo in that even if the AC does overheat, the R92's superior forced cooling will take care of things. I'm aware of the Vulture2+G91+ANANDA combo... it's just that for this design, I wanted to try something daring... something that would give me boosting prowess similar to that achieved in SL. (Hahah I'm so stuck in the past.) Grimoire: The heat isn't really a bother since, yun na nga, I've gotten the AC to stop self-heating. As for the Extensions, I like the RM kasi I'll just spam them at the start of a match, and then drop them right away. The NYMPHE... I'm not sure what else will do better. But whatever the case, the missiles are really just here for spammage. I'll try other weapon combos for this AC next weekend. I actually want to switch out the RL since it seems to be the village whore. Maybe I'll try out an R2+R3 combo (I'm a dual rifle fan... what can I say)... Heck, since this AC is so energy efficient, I can probably slap on some energy weapons. Anyways, it'll be hard to test things since I don't have a PS2 of my own. Usually, I just borrow Maitreya's PS2 since he lives next door. But since he stays in a dorm during the weekdays, I'll have to wait till the weekend to start testing things. Besides, testing isn't very reliable when done against AI. P.S. Just so you guys know, the reason that I am so hell-bent on this energy efficiency thing is that with a high boost endurance, I can stay in what leperman calls the "sweet spot," or that spot above an opponent's lockbox. Since it's in my style to always try to get into the so-called sweet spot, boosting endurance helps me stay there as long as possible. yay

a real important thing you want to look at during generator selection is the calorific value. this determines how much your ac will overheat during boosting and getting hit. i'll have to ask yaka for the formula again, but rule of thumb is that with a high calorific value, you'll generally want a booster with lower usage heat. my concern is the heat you're going to have when parts start breaking and you boost while getting shot at. the VULTURE2's lower usage heat or the LOTUS' low calorific value helps to even things out. but but like i said before, i have no idea what you pilot like and if you feel that you've got the heat under control, then it's all good.

Yeah I totally see your point and I'm grateful for the advice. I know that the G91+GULL is risky business... it's just that it's too tempting not to use. I mean, pretty much every non-OB AC uses either LOTUS+GULL+ANANDA or G91+V2+ANANDA.
In the end, I'll have to run this AC in versus mode (specifically against Maitreya ) before making conclusions. If things don't work out, then it's back to V2, I guess. Hahaha.

i dunno if this will be applicable for this AC, but if you're going for originality then another combo you might want to keep in mind is LOTUS + BIRDIE2. this combo runs real cold in just about any situation. so cold, in fact, that i've used the starter radiator with this to great effect. i forgot off the top of my head what my frame was, but my cooling was only like at 14.5K or so and it ran like a dream.
only downside is that you'll want a super-low drain ac to really be able to use this.

You want the Calorific Formula? You got the Calorific Formula!
OK, that was lame. (Booster Heat + Generator Calorific Value + Weapon Round Heat) x 2 = Total Heat Divide this by your total Normal Cooling (Frame Cooling + Radiator Normal Cooling), and you should get above 50%, although that's borderline and could possibly send you into OPD if you're not careful. Upping the percentage is much better than leaving it to your dodging skills. *EDIT: Weapon round heat is relative of course. You could compute for the cooling you needed without it, but that's asking for trouble, since they could be packing a 'zook or something, and that would leave you going under 50% if the rounds hit, since you didn't include it in the computation.*

I suggest going up against the Dual Face AC remake (forgot the AI's name... was it Mollycoddle?). Anyway, let him hit you a bit with his back-mounted GL. And a few blade strikes. That should be enough to test the capabilities of the R92. Though I am still a believer in the Ananda's power to handle any type of heat in LR, it's still nice to see something else used once in a while. Alright. This AC's cooling is definitely sufficient. I let the AC get consecutively hit by back linear cannons and GLs while boosting in mid air and it didn't overheat at all.
However, this AC seems too experimental to be called my staple. Rant ko lang ah pero the more I experiment with the stuff in LR, the more frustrated I get. Parang kahit ano gawin ko, it eventually leads to the same AC. :meh: Sa frame kunwari... ang limited ng options na maayos.

A thread some dude posted on ACO finally cleared it up for me. While the computation for the AC's calorific value stays mainly the same, you should actually be aiming for getting less than 50%. Here's what he said about it: <!--QuoteBegin-Magnavus+--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (Magnavus)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->if you get 0.5 + your AC will probably overheat 0.48 to 0.5 your AC will come close to overheating 0.43 to 0.48 your AC won't overheat below 0.43 your AC will heat up to about 40 degrees and go back to its original value.[/quote:7cb2f057d2] Oops, topic necro.

Anyhow, bossman, shouldn't that heat formula thingy go either in the FAQ forum or in the theory forum? But since the thread has already bump... Check this design out... and look how my LR designs have evolved... hahah.
