If you want a new OS altogether, get <a href='http://www.ubuntu.com/' target='_blank'>Ubuntu</a>, a newbie-friendly Linux distribution. It's got the GNOME desktop, which is quite glassy.
![]() Of course you'll have to partition your hard drive to install it. Not to mention that while Linux is quickly gaining compatibility with a lot of programs, it must be admitted that it's still not compatible with ALL of them. Windows still has that on Linux I'm afraid.
