eXophase Wrote:Chrono Trigger DS Incoming, Square Enix Teases
This is huge. Earth shattering news for RPG fanatics. The folks over at Square Enix Japan have launched a new teaser website counting down to a new Chrono Trigger title for the Nintendo DS. All that’s on the site currently is a mysterious countdown clock and with that said, it’s anyone’s guess as to if this a direct port of the SNES original or a full-blown remake.
Commence drooling in three, two, one.

Tick tock. I wonder if....

I hope its a remake, and judging from Squenix's recent titles for the DS (The FF remakes done in 3D), that's the most likely outcome. Or it could be a direct sequel...

It'll definitely be either a sequel or a remake. They wouldn't bother with a teaser if it were just a port.

It's going to be a port. But "enhanced to take advantage of the DS touch screen functionality and dual-screen setup", as well as additional content.

Just like Front Mission DS, which is the exact SNES port with added touch screen capabilities. There's also a bonus 2nd scenario with the FM game. Therefore, I expect Chrono Trigger DS will have some sort of added sub-quests or a different side story scenario with it.

Has anyone noticed the influx of good games to DS?
Can PSP have Chrono Cross?

It already does. Emulator.
The term good games is also subjective to the person who's deciding which games are good and not.

Theyr're really going for the true old-school CT feel, which is good since the anime take by the PS version sucked. But I wonder if there'll be new stuff?
