It could just be that if either of the players kind of screw up at one point during the mission, you get less points overall for that mission since that kind of rule applies when you're with your UNAC.
I still think you can only S rank them when you're with a UNAC or just by yourself; I haven't been able to S rank a single mission with a human player.

i see i see@w@ but none of us screwed up on that last one (they never knew what hit em) but i guess having a human player to accompany you does lower the rank
anyway, S ranked it as well with the sniper cannon+piledriver AC
it was like that mission was made for that combo
i literally did nothing but pressed the sniper trigger and sniped the sniper to death
by the time it dies, the armored one is in my face for a piledrivedring. then the rest can be killed with a victory dance of autoguns and a rifle
do you get items after A rank? I have a lot of other stuff i'm too lazy to do Shamrock mission Last reaper mission Boss mission (altho i am tempted to see if phase2 boss can be instakilled with an ultimate[since phase 1 can be piledrived to death the moment it tries to recover{does this guy just use piledrivers for everything???}])
but drachy used a CIWS mobility autocannon tank to destroy both phase 1 and 2. which can be easier
