Anyone watching it? It's a fantasy TV series based on the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind. I've only read the first two. This makes me want to read all of them.
The plot begins close enough to the first book, where Richard Cypher begins his quest to kill Darken Rahl, but soon the writers take a bit of liberty, diverting from what's canon so they can have one "quest" per episode. It works, it's not entirely bad. Besides, whenever they do get back to the source material, at least you're assured of a good foundation.
Special effects range from meh to quite-bad-for-a-Western-production, but I'm willing to look past that because of Bridget Regan, who plays Kahlan Amnell.
Aside from being a total ass-kicker, she's also frighteningly hot. Girl is like the new Kate Beckinsale or something. Honestly, sometimes, she's so achingly beautiful on camera (her eyes are awesome) that it's hard to watch without getting affected. But then the camera angles to a sweet, sweet shot of her cleavage, and suddenly you're ready to watch again.
Like this.
Currently on Season 2, I'm hoping there's a third one to come.
