- wanzerfreak - 01-21-2007 like one guy said at gamefaqs (props go to him): orchid - should be launched from a catapult kujaku - should be used to power a whole city ragora - you could crack this usless piece of shit open and spray the freon over those annoying foot soldiers and freeze them to death with that out of the way, let's get to the serious part: RADIATORS ananda is the only raditator that works on virtually everything. perhaps the only rad you will ever need. other usable rads are the hazel (ultra light, low equip drain and emergency drain when your heat gauge hits the red), for gens with very low cal value like the lotus or fudoh, and the r92 if you need some more cooling than what the ananda can give you, only with more equip drain (very low emergency drain though. good for low-drain frames, IMO). GENERATORS g91 - the all-purpose gen. the calorific value is easily controlled with the ananda with most boosters. crest makes a lot of money out of this baby. lotus - great generator for those who want a quick refresh rate without blistering heat, particularly those who favor OB. 84p/magnolia/kongoh - specialty gens. use this only when you really need the extra output, particularly with those high-drain energy weapon platforms. these designs put a lot of stress to your generator so you would want something that has a decent condeser cap and refresh. fudoh - HUUUUGE condenser cap. slow refresh rate. heavy. runs very cool like the lotus. fudoh and the gull make a great pair. Here are some BASIC combinations that work (hence they're called BASIC, go figure ): g91+any rad that i've mentioned above+any booster - the g91 is the most balanced gen out there and its cal value is very manageable. it works with almost anything, just don't be stupid enough to use this with the GULL and an OB core. kongoh+ananda+birdie2 - great on a lightweight frame(doesn't have to be exactly a lightweight per se). the kongoh's high refresh rate and high cal value blends with the high usage drain and low heat of the birdie2. it's possible to use this combo in conjuction with OB, but don't expect to whore it out so much or you will be on fire. g84p/magnolia+ananda+vulture2 - it's a combo that i use on fast, non-OB quads. quads already have high drain but godly cooling and blends perfectly with the high output and cal value of these two gens. not recommended for OB. this also works great with designs that revolve around energy weapons because of the quick refresh rate. be wary of the 84p's really short redzone though. lotus+ananda+gull/vulture2 - THE premier OB combo. the lotus is ultra light, has a low cal value, and the huge redzone acts as a buffer to stop you from going OPD and you can get out of the redzone if you do a few boost hops. the low usage drain of the gull works perfect with the lotus' short condenser cap (but it can still get hot so in this case you would wanna go with the vulture2 and use the EC optional part). also, non-OB low-drain ac's can go really fast and can sustain their max ground boost speed/hovering for a decent of time with the lotus+anada+gull+EC optional part. lotus+hazel+any low-heat booster - ultra light gen and rad combination. runs pretty cool but be carefull though because it's gonna take awhile for the hazel to get you out of the red once you get to that point. i have the lotus+hazel+birdie2 on the Bruiser prototype before switching to the more convetional combinations such as the g91+ananda+vulture2 and lotus+ananda+gull. fudoh+ananda+gull/vulture2 - the high condenser cap of the fudoh plus the low usage drain of the gull and the vulture2 equals to a really looooooooong skating run or hang time. the fudoh is also a cool gen, but don't expect to have your energy back as fast as the lotus. it will take a while even on low-drain frames. works fine with OB, but not as great as the lotus. that's all. - Grim - 01-21-2007 Good stuff. Why isn't this in the FAQ section? - wanzerfreak - 01-21-2007 @Grim me = WOW! MALI'D alright. it's fixed. you people just let me know kung meron pang sablay. ------- again, this is just basic stuff that a lot of people know. i am not taking credit for anything, just passing over some information. - Serene - 01-23-2007 Has anyone tried combining Linden with Kujaku? I dunno about this but I think Linden's there for Kujaku's high calorific value... - wanzerfreak - 01-23-2007 backdoor cooling means shit now, so the linden is rendered "virtually" useless. - Serene - 01-23-2007 Well, just a thought... Linden's still pretty good for me though... - NiX - 01-24-2007 Linden+Kujaku... man... that'd eat up so much weight that weapons and armor will be totally compromised. - Iguana - 01-24-2007 B81 + G91 + HAZEL = Massive air time. On Gamma Mk.II I'm able to stay in the air for nearly a minute, around 20 seconds if I'm firing the SHADE during online play. 8500+ AP 4000+ EN Supply. 1900+ Shell DEF 1500+ EN DEF B-Grade boosting speed. Raises up to A-Grade once the SHADE and R3 are dropped. Although it doesn't rate to high in the speed and agility department, the balance, defense, and firepower noticably compensate. I'll post the design later when I get home. RE: Gens/Rads 101 - NiX - 04-29-2008 G91+GULL+ANANDA is AWESOME except that you need at least 16400 total cooling and GULL tuned to 90% heat reduction for you to not self-heat. It'll reward you with an unbelievably high boost duration coupled with good speed. MAGNOLIA (tuned to 3/4/3 or tuned even more for weight reduction)+VULTURE2+ANANDA is a current favorite of mine for bipeds with above average cooling. For almost the same weight, it gives you much more energy and similar boost duration. The huge redzone is great too. Invest some points for reducing the heat of VULTURE2 though, just in case. Oh and KONGOH+B81+ANANDA with the EC Op also works great for fliers, as demonstrated by Leperman's Himitsu Heiki design. Oh and I think we should just ban ORCHID, RAGORA, and FURUNA so that people will stop using them. >_< KUJAKU's usable, at least. RE: Gens/Rads 101 - beastkiller - 04-29-2008 bka pwede consider ung akin kujaku furuna RE: Gens/Rads 101 - NiX - 04-29-2008 hahah I was just joking naman Eli. Yung KUJAKU okay naman. Yung FURUNA lang exag lang sa bigat tsaka sobra yung energy drain. RE: Gens/Rads 101 - Shintetsu - 04-29-2008 Certainly informative. On to making my AC.. xD RE: Gens/Rads 101 - NiX - 05-01-2008 If you're kinda strapped for weight, LOTUS+VULTURE2+HAZEL actually works really well! The low cal. value of LOTUS and VULTURE2's low heat exhaust compensates for HAZEL's poor cooling. And if your frame is actually cool enough, LOTUS+VULTURE+HAZEL is workable on some designs desperate for low-weight internals. RE: Gens/Rads 101 - Jack-O - 06-05-2008 Is a Fudoh+Ananda+Vulture2 combination good??? and equip an AC with 3 energy type weapons?? RE: Gens/Rads 101 - Lord_Leperman - 06-05-2008 You'll severely run out of energy IMO, especially with 3 EN weapons. I suggest the G84P if you want a high output generator that won't be very taxing on your heat, that can handle multiple EN weapons (assuming you keep the V2 and the ANANDA). Just be careful of the almost non-existent redzone. |
