While both have pretty much the same fighting styles, this one emphasizes on minimizing risks while Wanzer's design has more emphasis in setting up for offensive strikes (due to the nature of the legs and the range of his weapons and FCS, but correct me if I'm mistaken). This originaly had the 84L2 light weight legs compensated with the A72F arms for defense, ending up with a higher shell and EN than this version. However this one makes use of LR's BS underweighing mechanics by equiping the 80S2. Its actualy faster than its previous design, has more AP, and is able to jump without hard landing, which is very useful in the event of a blow-out. The JIREN is key to this design as it allows it to do an almost relentless assault on the opponent, making it hard for the opponent to counter attack because of continuous movement, thus demanding a lot of energy on the part of the design. I tested this AC against Zigg, Beastkiller and Twin Skies during yesterday's event and it did pretty well against a different variety of designs. Except maybe against heavy weights where they can soak up most of the damage, and once you had the AP lead when you run out of ammo, you'll spend the rest of the fight running away. I admit, this is looking pretty much like a generic AC OB, but its a first for me XD. Additional notes: I am looking for a replacement for the rocket pack, as it didn't perform well as I expected. I'm prolly looking for a missile system that can help me set up attacks, but its prolly not possible due to the short range nature of the FCS. I'd like to keep the F69 FCS and the JIREN as much as possible because of what they can do in close range. I'm also thinking of adding another 69H for the right hanger in the event where it calls for extra firepower. - Grim - 01-14-2007 With the Jiren, anything is possible. That said, frame's looking pretty decent. I suggest trying out the Langur arms though. Comparable stats for a bit better defense. Rockets in LR are nigh unusable as far as I'm concerned. Hirap na nga ang accuracy ng weapons with locks eh, pano pa kaya yung mga wala. Missiles? Nymphe? Should I make your AC more generic? Haha Looks good otherwise... except that it's an OB AC coming from you. My head implodes at the unpossibility. - Lord_Leperman - 01-14-2007 Missiles are ok, but I just dont like the way it meshes with the FCS because of the short lock range, which is the reason why I put rockets instead, which I found out it does not hit at the range I intended them for. I could put the ECHIDNA2 and just focus on the hand weapons as the primary damage dealers by adding another 69H (I noticed yesterday that I was just using the rockets to scare people from long range, and nothing else). At least even if 1 missile hits, its all worth it - wanzerfreak - 01-14-2007 saksakan ng panggagaya anyway, you could really use a lightweight stand-alone missile on this thing. OR, you can switch he RO for the SPHINX. - Grim - 01-14-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-Lord_Leperman+Jan 14 2007, 07:36 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (Lord_Leperman @ Jan 14 2007, 07:36 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Missiles are ok, but I just dont like the way it meshes with the FCS because of the short lock range, which is the reason why I put rockets instead, which I found out it does not hit at the range I intended them for. [/quote:097d1250f5] Oh, OK. In that case, Echidna2 works well because of its no-aim policy. And uh, I take back what I said about rockets. I think they just need a really high level of skill to use, one that isn't readily practiced by players because of its... unreliability in high-speed situations. - Solitaire - 01-15-2007 Rockets are nice, but like my sticky-bomb mines, only loveable WHEN they hit Overall a solid design, but i can't say much for the main gun because i've never been too fond of basic rifles, except maybe the GAST. Maybe you could pack stealth or hi-act missles instead of rockets? For stand alone missles without extensions, those got the best hit ratios. - wanzerfreak - 01-15-2007 basic rifles like the r2 and the r3 > gast. - Grim - 01-15-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-wanzerfreak+Jan 15 2007, 12:32 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (wanzerfreak @ Jan 15 2007, 12:32 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> r3 and the r3 [/quote:bee4b3cf11] Redundancy sure is redundant, eh wanzer? - wanzerfreak - 01-15-2007 LOL. just fixed it. - edmunddantes2 - 01-17-2007 uhmmm i fight an AC in the VR Mission on the LR and do you know what FCs I can use so that the target area on my screen will be a big square thanks - Lord_Leperman - 01-17-2007 I'm thinking again about rockets since I remember scoring a couple of hits against Twin Skies at extreme long range, though I'd atribute that to luck more than anything else. The GAST did cross my mind once since I was thinking that this thing is built for close range, but I decded against it in the end. Edmunddantes2: Try the F69 for dual ranged weapons, or the MIROKU for single weapons. - Serene - 01-17-2007 When using rockets (you may already know this but still...) you might as well use something powerful... Like you said you managed to land a -couple- shots on Skies' AC... So, you might as well shoot something that will hurt... I suggest using the Sphinx for a higher hit ratio for 6 shots... Spam and eject... - J.E_Magog - 01-18-2007 why not try CR-WR84RA2 RIFLE if you really want to go relentless on your opponent. - Lord_Leperman - 01-18-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-jonevangelist+Jan 18 2007, 12:44 AM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (jonevangelist @ Jan 18 2007, 12:44 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> why not try CR-WR84RA2 RIFLE if you really want to go relentless on your opponent. [/quote:0d27b403a3] The RA2 can run out at the most inappropriate time at close range due to its small mag size and mag reload, which can be quite risky at close ranges in theory (I will test it out against a human opponent). I could try the RA instead, as it has more ammo and is just as accurate but eliminates the problem of the mag reload, and thus having lesser risk (you pay off instead with the heavier weight but that's not much of an issue with the design at the moment). - wanzerfreak - 01-18-2007 you can easily get around weight issues, but not mag reload time since it's fixed. |
