The former for faster opponents, while the later for slower opponents. I choose the Vulture2 because of its low heat, allowing the design to OB ala SL style (as in super OB abuse, the booster/gen/rad combo allows for limited boosting even during the OB charge up time, thus minimizing the risk of overheating). Defense levels are around 1700 for shell and 1600 for EN defense thanks to the 99XS while the 72F balances the EN defense bias. Tunes would all prolly go to cooling since this is an OB intensive machine. - wanzerfreak - 10-22-2006 have you considered the birdie2 with the design? the accel seems to give you a little more push when performing the OB-slide jump. - Lord_Leperman - 10-22-2006 The BIRDIE2's drain kinnda bothers me.. I think the Vulture2's charge drain is already pushing it already as well, as I often use the GULL in such a boost/gen/rad combination. However, I really wanted to boost during the OB charge up just like in AC3/SL, and this is the closest I've gotten without compromising the its other features. However, that gave me a thought... What if I go G91 with BIRDIE2? - NiX - 10-22-2006 In my Proto II AC, I've got G84P(6,4,0)+BIRDIE2(0,9,1,0) and it already works really nicely with OB (then again, I was using ATLAS). If you've got G91, with it's lower calorific value, you'll heat up even less if you boost during the engagement of OB. The drain of BIRDIE2 though combined with the relatively slow refresh of G91 may keep you somewhat grounded. - wanzerfreak - 10-23-2006 well, the closest thing i got to SL-style OB whoring was with my hercules. the refresh doesn't bother me because i got 4000+ surpuls en with g91. - Grim - 10-24-2006 Indeed, this is much hardier than Invictus. Better def all the way. Vulture2 + G91 + Ananda's so reliable. That's why it's the most used combination also. But I think Lotus + /UL is a real winning pair. The high heat may bother you, but since this is an all-cooling-tuned AC, the Ananda can handle things. If you really want to push your luck, try Gull. Birdie2 + G91 would work well also. The Birdie2's low heat compensates for this value on the /UL, and with a G91 running your AC you shouldn't have problems regarding it's relatively high drain. Just make sure to remove that EC though, for less waiting time when it refreshes. Regarding the weapon combo, RS is solid as always, HP buffs the lockbox, and you've got enough ammunition stores to last you an entire war. On the backmounts, I guess we can consider you the resident Boy Scout of the community. Laging handa. - Lord_Leperman - 10-24-2006 D'oh! It ws uspposed to be the LOTUS, not the G91. I tried it with the BIRDIE2 and it seems to work the same as the VULTURE2 Lotus except the refresh is noticably more tolerable. Regarding my backmounts, I always choose the right weapons for the right time and keeps my opponents guessing on my attack patterns. |
