- Zigg - 10-21-2006 Hi guys since i have been wondering and i do not remember if this post has been done here or if it has been a topic in armoredcoreonline.com... well its about your generator radiator booster combination... what are your usual GRB combinations and explain why... since i posted it here in RR here are mine... 1. Fudoh, Ananda, Gull - this GRB setup is the oldest one that i have been using... the most reliable for any AC in my opinion if you do not mind the weight of the Fudoh... Ananda is the radiator that i use because it can tame the heat of the Gull... 2. Fudoh, Ragora, Gull - this GRB setup i use if the Ananda cant tame the heat of the AC... This one usually goes in those high heat OB Core ACs ehem ehem UL core is an example... you can go OPD but the ragora will take care of the heat for you because of the high flush cooling... 3. Lotus, Ragora, Gull - Actually this one i just came up with th other day while playing LR... yeah i know a lot of people use it in ACO... i was wondering why... so i put this one together to see... the Lotus is a nice Radiator... compares to the Kongoh but is better because of the emergency cap... signals you when to stop OBing ahehehe... this GRB setup can be used with any high Heat OB Core and High Heat Booster... only down side is the Low Energy bar... actually it really depends on the way that you look at it. The Lotus is a Blessing and a Curse at the same time... its low energy bar makes sure you dont heat up too much... but you cant do air time that much...but of course energy refresh rate is great... You dont have to mind seeing your heat bar go red because of the Ragora... really high flush cooling... Lotus generator a blessing and a curse for me... but i think that it's more of a blessing... As you see i always use the Gull boosters... well heat, energy consumption and power... statistically speaking it's the most reliable booster in the game... IMHO you can do anything with these boosters... 4. Kongoh, Linden / Ragora, Gull / TP - This GRB setup is pretty hard to understand at first... everyone is scared to see their AC heat up and loose energy at the same time... the GRB setup here is designed for specific ACs... again i will reiterate that it is designed for specific ACs... usually i put it in light ACs that need mobility and a lot of speed... the radiators here are chosen because of their high flush cooling to be able to get you out OPD fast... if you dont mind OPDing then try this out... I hope this helps you guys out in building and designing ACs... - NiX - 10-21-2006 G91/ANANDA/VULTURE2 is pretty standard-issue for me. If I'm using an OB AC, LOTUS/ANANDA/GULL is my most common choice. If my frame parts have high cooling, I sometimes go for KONGOH/ANANDA/VULTURE2 as an alternative to the G91. I like to play around with the G84P as well. ...and there. The first two combinations are the most commonly used, and are usually the safest bets. - Moonlight_Raven - 10-21-2006 nice... ![]() having a good Gen-Rad-Booster set-up is one of the main keys for an effective AC. but considering the combinations that the pilot should make, one must consider: - AC function (OB/EO, the type of AC frame, etc.) - if OB = charge-up heat, charge drain, etc. - weapon load out (solid/energy weapon system, etc.) - AC's total energy drain - AC's frame cooling - ...etc. even those "low performance" GRB parts can be effective, IF the combo is good and jives to the AC... for example... imagine... G78 + HAZEL + VULTURE ... on a light weight AC w/o an OB function, w/ solid weapons -> ok with me LOTUS + R76 + BIRDIE2 ... on a light weight AC with an OB function, w/ a single energy weapon -> also, ok for me just like that (I don't have my regular GRB combo... I usually base it on the AC that I am using)... I don't know if those two that I've mantioned are ok for others (because we have our "personal" preferences) :hmm: Gen-Rad-Booster set-up depends on the AC and pilot's skills/style. just swap and change the GRB combo to make things more efficient, effective and more functional... =^.^= - Serene - 10-22-2006 Well... Here's mine... Kongoh163+R92+TP - The 163 means the kongoh is tuned and balanced. Everyone uses the ananda, but it's just light for me, that why I use R92. The GR setup easily manages some middle heat boosters, but not those that give too much heat. Kongoh163+R92+Vulture2 - This is my current tourney BGR setup. All I did is replace TP with V2 because TP is banned on tourneys... Both GR setups prevent your AC from rising too high... Hence the nickname Ground Combat Set... Fudoh0100+R92+Gull - This setup is for those who I can say really fear overheating. Gull's high heat is easily regulated by the GR. Fudoh0100+R92+TP+Pegasus - The speed setup... Tapos. I'm currently experimenting of GR setups... Right now I find the Lotus and Magnolia useful... |
