- wanzerfreak - 10-15-2006 my first middlewieght biped designed specifically for the arena. and i pretty much came close to mimick Ares' paintjob. Valiant Prime s3 (+10 cooling) ul2 (+5 cooling, +5 solid def) macaque (+10 cooling) cougar2 (+5 cooling, +4 solid def, +1 weigh cap) gr91 (+10 output) vulture2 (+5 power, +5 heat reduction) ananda (+10 cooling) volute medusa rm3 kinnara ra ghost2 bp 69h ---- amino, es, ss, ec, la, l+, marishi, ribose paint: (r/g/b) b - 135/74/33 a - 112/8/16 o - 168/148/117 d - 28/39/139 j - 70/80/70 currently, only two variants exist. the prime and the alpha. the alpha replaces the the left-hand bp with the more accurate griffon and the ec is replaced with the phage. the +1 weight cap is diverted to the solid defense stat. the empty left hangar slot is now fitted with another 69h. vital stats: primary variant's max ground boost speed reaches 388, 3900+ surplus energy, and 1700+/1700+ en and solid def. strategy is simple, try to overwhelm the opponent with the missile swarm and sneek in a few bp or griffon shots while they're occupied. then, proceed to engage up close and personal with the ghost2 and the left arm mounts. i'll try to get a screenshot from acgarage soon... - Grim - 10-15-2006 Why the S3 head? I'd go with S2, less drain and better stab, especially with the RA. Second I'd switch the Cougar2 to the S3. Better overall defense and much slower rate of breakage. Other than that, one last thing: the Kinnara. I won't really recommend micros to anyone as an attacking missile pack, they're more for distraction for me, even when spammed mid-OB because they're so easy to dodge. A proper jink or a calculated undercut's gonna make them all miss. Plus, with LR's retarded missile system, fire them at close enough range and at a high enough altitude and the whole swarm's going to miss even with the other AC standing still. Wow... just wow. :meh: IMO, RM3's going to waste. It would be interesting if you could squeeze in the MT on this though. Yeah it's heavy, but it's a hella lot more powerful and accurate. For the FCS, I'd recommend Monju or F73H. You just love the Volute don't you? lol Version Alpha looks primed up to be an OB lover's dream, but with the current missile pack, I'm estimating it'll take almost around 1/3 more time to down an AC. But it's fun though, this version Alpha. Griffon roXorz me soXorz. - wanzerfreak - 10-15-2006 "balance out the common with the uncommon" hence, that's why i chose the s3 head, hahaha. the kinnara+rm3 are distractions. the two salvos fly at different speeds and trajectories. the former works better when fired mid-air. i'll try to fit in the 75mt on my next visit at the local game center since i don't trust this japanese LR builder that i have(which reminds me, what's taking you so long? ). i think i'd rather go with the s2 legs over the s3. that set is just too drainy for me...but i'll give it a try. i have dual sp locks. monju and f73h give me a tiny lockbox. since i'm not so much of an OB guy....why not i let you have the liberty of redesigning the version alpha to suit your taste? - Grim - 10-15-2006 <!--QuoteBegin-wanzerfreak+Oct 15 2006, 11:08 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (wanzerfreak @ Oct 15 2006, 11:08 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->the kinnara+rm3 are distractions. the two salvos fly at different speeds and trajectories. the former works better when fired mid-air. i have dual sp locks. monju and f73h give me a tiny lockbox.[/quote:eb84b94afd] Exactly. If you're just going to go with distractions, go with the Syaks instead. Hi-Acts will do more good in distraction than micros. If you're going for attack power, definitely Nymphe or MT. Sorry about that the Special locks, forgot. In that case, I'd still recommend either of the two, but change your Ghost2 to a Wraith.. one of the top four (H3, HP and 69H being the other three) handguns in the game. That way, the gun buffs up the lockbox size a bit more for the BP. Of course, keep in mind that these are just suggestions. If they interfere with your style in any way, then don't take them lol. Quote:i don't trust this japanese LR builder that i have(which reminds me, what's taking you so long? ).Is that the GLR builder? That's the exact same one I have. And I don't use it. It's taking long because I'm not going to do the builder myself. I'm just waiting for someone to put the whole code in an .html file so I can rip it, hehe. - wanzerfreak - 10-18-2006 here's the re-worked version alpha: s3 (+8 cooling, +2 solid def) <---the head stays. ul (+10 cooling) macaque (+5 cooling, +5 solid def) dingo (+10 cooling) <---better than the dingo2 in pratice. g91 (+10 output) vulture2 (+5 power, +5 heat reduction) ananda (+10 cooling) volute medusa rm3 75mt ra ghost2 griffon wraith wraith or elf3 optionals: amino, es, ss, la, l+, codon, marishi, ribose weapon color: all gold notes: i think i finally got the optionals right this time. i listed all the parts and tunes back at the game center yesterday but i forgot to bring that list with me here at my workspace today. btw, what's the serial full number on the non-ob UL core? i think i may have confused it with the ob model..... - Grim - 10-18-2006 There, much better IMO. The Dingos are underused legs, but they're really quite good for a midweight. MT + RM3 = a lotta hurt. I would, however, still recommend F73H for this though. Volute's got a longer range, but from testing you need to be in mid range to make full and effective use of both weapons anyway. F73H is wider too, providing ample space to catch flanking enemies. And besides, even with the LA on the Volute, an LA on the F73H is a faster lock, and you'd want an even faster missile lock for the MT, won't you? As for the UL cores: CR-840/UL (sometimes referred to as the OB UL, or /UL) CR-YC99UL (sometimes referred to as the solid UL, or simply UL) - wanzerfreak - 10-18-2006 thanks. i've been thinking about changing the paint into a red/white/blue scheme to symbolize the main flag colors and the weapons are painted yellow to symbolize the sun and the three stars. i think we have a potential mascot for the republic! - maitreya - 10-18-2006 I can't try out the frame now, but... This is using the UL (Solid UL, non-OB UL) core, right? If that the case, then I don't think this AC would need that much tuning for cooling. Generally, G91/VULTURE2/ANANDA combo works for most ACs with minimal or no tuning for heat. Why not try retuning? But, of course, this post is considered void if you're using /UL (OB UL). - wanzerfreak - 10-18-2006 well...you can't be too careless when fighting BOLT most of the time... i know i have good dodging skills but the cooling tunes are more of a psychological effect than a practical one...like a placebo, if you will. - Zigg - 10-19-2006 Kinaara... sorry just posting... that is the only problem that you have... micro missiles are so easy to dodge... it goes well with the RM3 because of the amount of missiles being volleyed at you... but... sometimes quantity does not match quality... plust weight and energy consumption... i would go with the nymphe or spartoi... or try something like RM3 and those vertical launch missiles... so that the opponent has to look out for two sets of missiles coming from different directions... also the inside medusa... i think it's a waste of weight energy consumption... sorry for being blunt... but can either leave it empty or pack some urchins... hmm seems also that you heat up pretty quickly coz you are using the g91 ananda combination with a vulture2 booster... try g91 r92 with that... IMHO of course depends on how you pilot your AC if you OB or boost a lot... - wanzerfreak - 10-19-2006 might as well be blunt than kiss my brown ass like those pussies did with guppy at ACO anyway, i've been considering other missile packs and a change in the FCS. i'll keep those suggestions in mind. - Grim - 10-29-2006 Alright wanzer, we managed to get in some playtime with Valiant Prime. The performance is pretty good actually. That Ghost2 + BP combo is a killer from midrange, as are the RM3 extensions. The legs don't break as fast as I thought they would, too. OB performance is right on for a midweight, and it gets even better once you start dropping things. I observed from when Leperman used it that there weren't a lot of problems with heat, but try using it against high-heat, high-impact rounds anyway. One last question: is it really overweight, or did you get some of the tunes you posted wrong? Valiant Alpha, I just tested myself. This is more of a sniping AC, since it has those accurate weapons. Volute would find much use here to keep in the optimal range. That /UL core, once it goes yellow, tends to have some real big problems with heat though. You've already got it to all cooling, so I don't know... maybe a switch to something cooler? UL2 or Helios? That'd require it to be a bit more specialized though. I noticed it just now, but this is really the AC2 Nine Breaker's paint setup? It looks... royal. - wanzerfreak - 10-29-2006 thanks! i think i got the tunes wrong. i don't usually write them down after i leave the game center. as for the paint......well, it's not an "exact" duplicate but i do think i have come close to it as i pointed out earlier. ares's ac looks really good. probably the best paint scheme on an AI ranker i've seen over the years. providence looks like the roman god of war himself wearing deep crimson and shining gold armor. what about Bruiser? how did it do? - Lord_Leperman - 10-29-2006 I'm sorry I wasn't able to provide vids as I promised you earlier because of the limited slots for saved replays (one can only save 8 replays on a memory card), but I can say that this is a very good AC with manageable heat and an excelent weapon system. The RM3+KINNARA+BP at the right range can immediately turn the tide of the match in an instant while the handgun + BP can relly pressure an opponent. Great job! However I still question the performance of the GHOST2, even if it did perform very well, because I just feel that there are better choices like the H3, GHOST or any WS lock box handgun... Just me though, I'm just not sold on the idea. But I had fun using this AC in free play agaist other players. :excited: - wanzerfreak - 11-09-2006 version BETA, haha! s3 (+10 cooling....can't remember really ) ) NON OB UL (+5 cooling + 5 solid def) macaque (+5 cooling, +5 solid def) dingo (+6 cooling, +2 solid def, +2 en def) <---better than the dingo2 in pratice. g91 (+10 output) vulture2 (+2 power, +4, accell, +4 heat reduction) ananda (+10 cooling) volute -no inside- rm3 kinnara ra r3 griffon wraith wraith optionals: amino, es, la, l+, codon, marishi, phage and it gets a themsong too: <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRJ4Re8jKWU' target='_blank'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRJ4Re8jKWU</a> enjoy! edit - tunes and changed ra to r3 |
