The Taglish Thread,,, - Serene - 01-18-2010 Well, originally, we had a rule to not post in tagalog or filipino here in RR. But because we've been having meets regularly and have become soft and casual, in ways, good things but add that to having foreign members who end up being dumbfounded because of the language that's new to them, I decided to srat this thread. If you guys have any questions, just post it here, if you guys need tagalog or filipino to english translations, post it here, we'll be more than happy to help out. RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - NiX - 01-18-2010 What does ,,,,,,, mean? It shits on everything I've learned about punctuation marks. If I use comas, my sentence should look like this. Right? (not used to it xP ) RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - Grim - 01-18-2010 Some words to get you foreigners started: Oo - yes Hindi - no Siguro - maybe Astig - colloquial term meaning cool, awesome What other common Tagalog words do we use? RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - clonezero - 01-18-2010 sandali lang - give me 2 hours RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - Grim - 01-18-2010 (01-18-2010, 11:38 PM)clonezero Wrote: sandali lang - give me 2 hours ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - NiX - 01-19-2010 (01-18-2010, 11:35 PM)Grim Wrote: Some words to get you foreigners started: Putang ina. Puta = whore ina = mother. Adding the 'ng' suffix to the end of most nouns ending in vowels turns them into adjectives. RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - NiX - 01-19-2010 No. Son of a bitch is referring to the bastard child of a mother whore. Putang ina is literally just a mother who also happens to be a whore. RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - clonezero - 01-19-2010 Filipinos are more direct XD common words ... katakam-takam = ![]() sugpo = prawns RE: The Taglish Thread,,, - Fox - 01-28-2013 Kulang sa Pansing (KSP) - Attention whores. Constantly clamoring for people to notice them, by doing stupid things, butting into topics that don't concern them and sticking their nose where they're not wanted. More often than not, they end up earning the ire of the people around them.
