Quote:BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Mar 4, 2005 — A couple's plans for a birthday party for their former pet chimpanzee turned tragic when two other chimps at an animal sanctuary escaped from their cage and attacked. The man was critically injured with massive wounds to his face, body and limbs, and the attacking animals were shot dead. RE: Teh interesting animal-related news stub thread - NiX - 01-12-2010 What the hell. Don't own fucking monkeys. RE: Teh interesting animal-related news stub thread - Sforza - 01-12-2010 I went to this temple in Indonesia where there were signs all over warning tourists to watch their belongings because monkeys might steal them. This included glasses, earrings, water bottles, hats, and generally anything dangling. The monkeys live in the temple and roam freely there. While we were there, I saw a tourist get his shades swiped off his head by a monkey who was near a high wall, and a monkey swiped a pastry from a kid who was eating it. Worse of all, they did group tactics on my cousin. One monkey rattled a water bottle on the bottom of a nearby baby carriage, making people look, while another monkey came up from behind and stole my cousin's glasses from his hand. He claims their grip was really strong. They usually destroy anything they get their hands on, or play with them for a little bit before discarding them by throwing them down the mountain precipice. They were the small type too, not as big as chimpanzees. Lesson: don't mess with the monkeys.
