Favorite Genre/Artists - NiX - 10-09-2007 What kind of music do you guys like listening to? I generally like alternative rock, jazz, electronica, oldies, etc. and pretty much anything except modern RnB and Hip-Hop. >_< Specific artists that I like are: Jason Mraz Dave Matthews Band Postal Service Bloc Party Boys Like Girls Snow Patrol The Cure The Beatles The Bluetones Oasis Stevie Wonder etc etc Local Bands, I like The Dawn Eraserheads Up Dharma Down There's this new band called Zelle that sounds really good too. Frankly, much of the local music nowadays sucks balls. Badly. I also enjoy Video Game Soundtracks and of course some Japanese and anime music. As far as J-Rock goes, I particularly like L'Arc~En~Ciel and Tokyo Jihen. RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Sforza - 10-10-2007 *ahem* I will make sum delicious copypasta now I generally like alternative rock, jazz, electronica, oldies, etc. and pretty much anything except modern RnB and Hip-Hop. >_< Specific artists that I like are: Meg and Dia The Libertines Eisley Radiohead Beirut The Bravery Muse Atreyu Smashing Pumpkins Hiromi Uehara Depapepe BB King Carole King Joni Mitchell Frank Sinatra (lulz) etc etc. Local artists I like Cynthia Alexander Noel Cabangon Asin Dong Abay I used to like Up Dharma Down, but they're always late to gigs (as in more than an hour, sometimes two! wtf) so boooo~ Frankly, much of the local music nowadays sucks balls. Cpop, I like Stefanie Sun and Jay Chou RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Goat - 10-10-2007 Video Game Soundtracks and Death Metal. RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - clonezero - 10-11-2007 I never was picky ... I maintain by the motto "if it sounds good then its good" but Im feeling slighty detached from most of the current songs these days ... it is harder to be more creative these days IMO ... maybe the current music styles (more specifically those in america) are just too new for me XD... is eminem still around? haven't heard any new songs from him lately. RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Grim - 10-11-2007 Christ are all of us alike or what. Jazz - Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie Bossa Nova - Astrud Gilberto Reggae - Bob Marley, and with good reason. Modern reggae artists are pretty cool too though. Electronica and general technofunkiness - Daft Punk, and uhh... Daft Punk. Rock (old skool and new school) - Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, RATM, Mudvayne (fuckin' mathcore, yeah!) Video game music - Yasunori Mitsuda, StarSalzman, virt Random noises made by interesting instruments I'd like to think my taste is pretty diverse, as I'll actually listen to anything and everything with an open approach. I somewhat enjoy OPM, especially the bands which don't take themselves too seriously (Itchyworms, Brownman Revival, Shiela and the Insects). RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - clonezero - 10-11-2007 my fav OPM band would be the eraserheads ... especially the song "Ligaya" which was the best IMO ... ts my top 1 song of all time ... frank sinatra's fly me to the moon is high up my list NOT because of eva but because of the movie Space Cowboys RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Sforza - 10-11-2007 Grimlok Wrote:Christ are all of us alike or what. You mentioned everything I forgot to mention except for the Bossa Nova part, because its so overplayed now. About mathcore, ever tried listening to the Battles or Zazen Boys? Battles are indie and are a mix of electronica and rock. Zazen are indie too, and Japanese electronica w/ hiphop. OPM: Really like SatI too, which I forgot to mention. And Wickermoss. RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - NiX - 10-11-2007 LOL yeah Bossa Nova sucked ever since it became "cool" to "bossanovize" existing songs. >_< RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Lord_Leperman - 10-21-2007 I happen to love... Eurobeat. Yes, bad english + upbeat electronic music makes me high when I drive and whenever I listen to it. Now for some copypasta: I generally like alternative rock, jazz, electronica, oldies, etc. and pretty much anything except modern RnB. >_< Specific artists that I like are: Marko Polo (and his aliases) Bloc Party Foo Fighters Bemani in-house Artists (Jimmy Weckl, Thomas Howard Lichtenstein) Mando Diao Local Bands, I like Sugarfree Sheila and the Insects Frankly, much of the local music nowadays sucks balls. Badly. RE: Favorite Genre/Artists - Fox - 10-31-2007 Musically, i'm pretty diverse even though the majority of what i listen to consists of all sorts of rock. Among the bands that'll never get old for me....
