its just that goat's post caught my attention
what course are you in ?
only courses i know that has csb that has animation is either MMA, their 2 new courses Animation and Game Production
though my only complain with the course they only teach you the basics was most people put it and some of my professor said the course is spread out to thin on all areas XD its like all over the place and half of the time they would miss out what is really needed
i hope by this time they fixed the courses a bit like in 2d anim? are they at least teaching you the 12 principles of animation? or its just like this is a in between, this is a keyframe, this is a storyboard etc kinda of stuff again?

and yeah like everyone else said just dont mind what their saying if you love working on mechs then go ahead dont mind them i also remember making a mech for one of my 3d project before XD everyone has their likes and dislikes anyways what is your ym maybe i can help a bit time to time ^^ though i dont do 2 animation (traditional) anymore i kinda moved to 3d most the time but still the principles remain the same whether whatever medium it is and still do some 2d artworks ^^
warning though when your going to job hunt as a 2d artist i would suggest you don't specialize too much on just "anime" style and most of the time if you going to job hunt as a 2d concept artist most studios would expect you to be also be very good not only with characters (which can be any, a kid, a old man, a teen , a old lady etc) but also with backgrounds,vehicles pretty much everything and there is very a rare time there are job openings for 2d artist around here more rare is the need for anime style unless your in japan,singapore other places that anime style is popular in the industry for that art style more often than that most studios would want a really realistic style stuff you see blizzard does

Also, I'm not sure of my professor's name since there was a change of plan just before the classes started iirc (they swapped places with other professors) but it does say Ofrasio on my EAF. I'm currently taking 2DANIM1 this sem btw.

And yeah, I try to not only get used to anime as much as possible. I'm weak when it comes to drawing marvel stuff though (also started practicing with realistic stuff).

Lots of leaves and twigs on our village roads, but as far as I know no trees fell. However, a power line or transformer or something did blow up last night, leaving us with no electricity. Might continue up until tomorrow.

My rant for today is so big I can't even fucking rant abt it in a rage-fashion any more. today went like this:
1 woke up fuck early
2 lrt dead
3 public transpo fail
4. lucky me andrew and sis managed to hitch a ride in one of sis' friends' car.
5. along the way, siblings found out that classes were suspended, so they had to drop me off in the middle of nowhere.
6. left my umbrella in the car, so had to walk in a bit of rain
7. shoes sunk into a puddle of mud(nothing went in though)
8. GAH no internets. not until now though.

yeah warning though MMA covers everything but only the basics, they will probably miss out on most of the important stuff, jack of all trade master of none type of course, kinda a dean lister MMA graduate but my forte is 2d/3d more into 3d
Ofrasio XD Ms. Dolores/Dolly Ofrasio yeah i remember her XD she was my Natsca professor, one of the so called terror teachers but didnt feel like it though XD
okays tips about maybe when you start job hunting later or so
1. when you start job hunting on the smaller studio a generalist will do but when you apply for the bigger ones they want specialist already so its a good idea to probably start thinking what do you really want to specailize in or what do you really enjoy doing the most
2. if your planning on character animation, for one master the 12 principles of animation after youve done that a bit of acting helps ^^ warning though there isnt much openings for character animators here though
3.2d concept artist- you should be able to do anything from vehicles to characters of any kind kid, old lady, fat old lady etc etc not much openings also for that job here
3. 3d...is a monster to tackle warning you already as early as now because 3d is such a monster to tackle on the smaller scale studios probably a generalist will do,
but on the meduim scale to large studios they want specialist, as in 3d is roughly divided into Modeling, Animation, Rigging, FX, Texturing...and the meduim to bigger scale studios would ask you what is really is your specialty among those for me Modeling is main forte the others i am just pretty much average with it
so if you decide you want 3d to be your specialty you have to decide also what area of 3d mostly like a said 3d is a monster to handle XD
4. other subjects i dont know XD didnt focus on those and its not my forte XD i am 3d/2d person XD
5. the most abundant job openings here is for graphic artist and web (which kinda suck because i am just average with graphic design and suck at web) at least the good news is 3d is also pretty much a bit in demand here but currently not much openings for that for the moment.

Ah crap my memory messed up lol. If you're talking about Ms. Dolly (which i'm not sure if that was really her name), my subject didn't get its prof reassigned then. She does seem "terror" probably because of the pressure she puts, but she spoon-feeds us with important stuff regarding 2D and 3D.
And yeah, I'm either planning on becoming a concept artist or #5, if it doesn't work, I've got other opportunities (which i hope i'll enjoy just in case).
