Look at the soldiers running around the AC in the intro.
Now look at the soldiers standing around in the "Attack Advance Base/Camp Fortherd" mission.
Similar 'di ba?
Now, if you think about it, Vertex doesn't exactly have a lot of manpower like troops, aircraft and armored vehicles. Their main attacking strength are the Ravens under Jack-O's command. So who else would have a lot of soldiers running around.
Also, i remember reading an FAQ in gamefaqs that said that BJ and the Cascade Range were part of Vertex.
I may be wrong but that's what i think.

It's named after the last name of one of the people from From Software (yep, Karasawa). I've also heard some people say that Naotoshi Zin is a fan of Akira Kurosawa and so named a weapon after him, but I'm inclined to believe in the former.
