- wanzerfreak - 04-15-2007 railguns have existed in other games. one example is the Stonehenge in Ace Combat 4. <a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railgun' target='_blank'>go here to know more about railguns</a> - Jack-O - 04-15-2007 Ey thanks wanzerfreak, anyway from yer username you played Front Mission? well I'm just asking. Ey are there more better railgun on other AC games? well I will just look at their designs for my AC-like robots. - Grim - 04-15-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-Jack-O+April 15, 2007 01:26 pm--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (Jack-O @ April 15, 2007 01:26 pm)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Ey thanks wanzerfreak, anyway from yer username you played Front Mission? [/quote:e01612ae95] You should know, he's written FAQs for that game. I think that it's safe to say he played it. <!--QuoteBegin-Jack-O+--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (Jack-O)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Ey are there more better railgun on other AC games? well I will just look at their designs for my AC-like robots.[/quote:e01612ae95] Well the Python is an LR-exclusive, but the Ladon back weapons are energy railguns as well, and they've been in AC since AC3 at the latest. Earlier than that, my memory goes foggy. As for railguns in other games... well, there was one Metal Gear Rex... (wow... what a fanboy huh?) - clonezero - 04-15-2007 are you sure stonehenge was a railgun??? ... my friends story of AC 4 seems a bit different but oh well linear guns are also railguns but from said its different railguns where else but Fall Out baby!!!! (their called gauss weaponry ... gaus gatling gun bwuahahahaha!!!) other games quake 3 up, red faction series, mech warrior, hmmm anything connected to magnetic accelerated weaponry are rail guns fast fact: the REAL rail gun is a very very big train rail transported altillery gun used by the germans - wanzerfreak - 04-15-2007 Quote:fast fact: the REAL rail gun is a very very big train rail transported altillery gun used by the germans fast fact: that's not a "real" railgun. the definition of the railgun is described in the wikipedia link i posted. i know wikipedia can be unreliable at times but, it's quite the opposite in this case. try googling for it on other sources and you'll get the same results. another fast fact: railguns and coilguns (a.k.a. "Gauss rifles") are quite different, but they work using a similar principle. - Goat - 04-15-2007 Railguns: <a href='http://www.military.com/soldiertech/0,14632,Soldiertech_RailGuns,,00.html' target='_blank'>http://www.military.com/soldiertech/0,1463...ilGuns,,00.html</a> Hot Facts: A projected naval rail gun with a 2.5km/sec muzzle velocity could deliver a guided projectile with an impact velocity of Mach 5 to targets at ranges of 250 miles, at a rate greater than 6 rounds per minute. A test demonstrated that a rail gun projectile's kinetic energy could create a 10-foot diameter crater, 10 feet deep in solid ground, and achieve projectile penetration to 40 feet - 3 to 5 times more effective than current guns. Rail gun projectiles are smaller and easier to store: a standard AGS magazine holds 1,500 rounds; a rail gun magazine could hold 10,000 rounds in the same amount of space. -battelle.org "Gauss" Guns: <a href='http://www.coilgun.ru/' target='_blank'>http://www.coilgun.ru/</a> - Serene - 04-16-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-J.E_Magog+April 15, 2007 12:26 am--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (J.E_Magog @ April 15, 2007 12:26 am)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> <!--QuoteBegin-Serene+April 14, 2007 09:07 pm--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (Serene @ April 14, 2007 09:07 pm)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Reason: Left Arm Trigger Delay + Python Charge Time = Off Sight AC [/quote:02c439cfce] plus add its slow projectile speed. but that will still work. i often charge my railgun even before i get a lock-on. Or maybe phyton looks too cool thats why... [/quote:02c439cfce] Then you should be 3 seconds ahead... LATD + PCT = (1-)sec + (2-)secs == something below 3 seconds Think Ranged Parrying Blade... Medyo sadista yun, a high speed AC could quickly catch up to you in that short time span... - J.E_Magog - 04-16-2007 its not like a left arm phyton will be used as a main weapon. - clonezero - 04-16-2007 ~_~...? huh but the term railgun first came from that altillery piece ...? in all actuallity it is the only real railgun everyone else just coined the term - J.E_Magog - 04-16-2007 I think its called a railway gun... chromehounds made its own version of that gun. <a href='http://www.hlj.com/product/DRA6200' target='_blank'>Railway gun "Leopold"(WWII)</a> <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdgT9xu4X60' target='_blank'>MSK SUPER WEAPON(chromehounds)</a> - Jack-O - 04-16-2007 Well the railway gun thinngy is not actually a railgun, and if someone that knows Metal Gear Solid in PS1 might saw a Railgun in a part, but I did not see it fireing Anyway when I saw Cascade Range fires the Phyton(when I first played LR I do now know what kind of Laser Weapon is that?? well when I realized that it is a Hand Railgun) so that weapon will be my choice on my weapon#25. - Grim - 04-16-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-Jack-O+April 16, 2007 03:28 pm--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (Jack-O @ April 16, 2007 03:28 pm)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Anyway when I saw Cascade Range fires the Phyton(when I first played LR I do now know what kind of Laser Weapon is that?? well when I realized that it is a Hand Railgun) so that weapon will be my choice on my weapon#25. [/quote:09274ec708] Poor choice, really. The Python is only a novelty weapon. For reeels. Below average damage and heat, low ammo count, stupid charge time. If they upped the damage about 200 units more, and the heat by around 300-500 units, then it'd be a good gun. - J.E_Magog - 04-16-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-Jack-O+April 16, 2007 05:28 pm--><div class='codebox_title'>QUOTE (Jack-O @ April 16, 2007 05:28 pm)</div><div class='codebox'><div id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> if someone that knows Metal Gear Solid in PS1 might saw a Railgun in a part, but I did not see it fireing [/quote:e569b9b2ee] maybe the reason why they never fired it is because its armed with a nuclear warhead...maybe... But in MGS2, Fortune uses a miniaturized version of that gun(thats what they said in the dvd). - Jack-O - 04-17-2007 Well, it's not the Phyton itself that I will make but an upgrade of the Phyton with 1000+ attack power and more attack heat, oh yeah it has a Nuclear version of it but it be heavy to my #25, even though it is heavyweight. well the design itself is like a Ladon2 with the Phyton's 3 long rails(or whatever is that thinngy) other spec's is still unknown' well just imagine a Phyton and a Ladon2 combined. - Jack-O - 04-18-2007 Ey, I got good news, I got the Phyton, and the bad news, it's not good at all, but it's ok, anyway, shall I use it on my lmiddleweight or to my heavyeeight, I'm just doubting. |
