RE: Anime Recomendations - hisuka - 02-22-2009 Midori no hibi (Midori Days) Quote:Genres: comedy, drama, romance I like this one because of the cute plot, average episodes of 13 and of the crazy cat RE: Anime Recomendations - maitreya - 03-29-2009 Sword of the Stranger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_the_Stranger Awesome sword fights, solid story, and has won some international awards. A lot of blood to boot! RE: Anime Recomendations - Twin-Skies - 03-31-2009 Nodame Cantabile (Season 1 and 2) Pros: 1. Engaging character development - Everybody in the series changes and matures as the plot progresses. 2. Chemistry - The couples are just plain fun to watch. It's not just about nonsensical, overly sentimental romantic fluff; Chiaki and Nodame's relationship is a hilarious love-hate pair-up that'll leave you wondering what's going to happen next. 3. Music - Aside from the excellent technical details for each episode's song, you gotta love the insight the characters give per piece, such as the context of the song's creation, composer backgrounds, and how each player interprets the piece as their own. Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallows) 1. Loli - A slice of life anime about four 11-12 year old girls. 'Nuff said. 2. Humor - Well-executed deadpan comedy. More of a personal perk, but it's hard to find good smart humor in anime lately 3. Ana!!!! RE: Anime Recomendations - clonezero - 03-31-2009 watch any episode of naruto shippuuden from 90 to 100 and watch the ending the fact that that was a filler arc was redeemed by the ending XD RE: Anime Recomendations - Kanon - 08-30-2009 Seirei no Moribito People actually use their brains without being overly intellectual. The story/plot is excellently delivered. Sellable even in the absence of Ecchi. I felt like I was watching Kusanagi as though she were not a cyborg. Watch Episode 3. You'll want to watch the rest afterwards. Aaaanyway, here are my shots to anime reviews: Title: Bakemonogatari (Ghostories*) It's actualy a pun, "Bakemono" = monster/ghost/oddity while "Monogatari" = Story Genre: Supernatural/Novel/Romance(?) When you hear "supernatural" you normally think something that's quite scary. You might imagine the likes of FEAR or 'White Noise' something along those lines. However that's the western take on paranormal things, it really changes quite sharply when you check it out on eastern takes on 'ghost stories' as the eastern views on paranormal existences is very very different. This series starts off with a feel of a romance novel as the settings takes off with an adolescent boy that catches a girl falling off the stairs. Where it is described that she was as if she was weightless. However, it is soon presented that she is literally nearly weightless. And the story picks up from there, jumping from oddity to oddity as the story progresses. The thing with this anime is that it was originally a novel like Index and Haruhi. However, Haruhi was more of a sarcastic gag on reality while Index is a serious jump into the nerd-iverse for battles. Bakemonogatari on the other hand is quite heavy on conversations. You will hear a lot of conversations pertaining to 'what ifs' and getting to the bottom of a clouded issue. That and the writer of Bakemonogatari is quite fond of making puns (as I have pointed out with the title) so if you're not quite familiar with the Japanese language you won't notice a good amount of wit that the writer had cleverly buried within the characters and the story. Because of this you might not get quite satisfied with the series. What makes novel-based stories good though is that you almost always get depth out of stories and this series is definitely one of them. Plot twists are quite good, and if you're the type who can guess the twist of a story, worry not, because they play out the story so damn well that you don't know when they'll really uncover this or that. The pace is like an unpredictable roller-coaster, the same can more or less be said about the characters of this series. And "yay!" for those who can't really understand Japanese because you won't need to be able to as the really important puns are pointed out and the good story developments don't really need a translation geek to understand. So, my final say on it is if you think battles are overdone and you want to try something that may be able to surprise you pick up this title. However, you may have to be prepared to listen to lines or concepts a few times over or have a person who is fairly versed in Japanese next to you if comprehension is a great factor for your satisfaction. Though if you weren't able to understand it easily then it wasn't very well made in the first place now wouldn't it? My rating: 4/5 RE: Anime Recomendations - Sforza - 08-31-2009 ^ Agreed. Bakemonogatari is really good. Been watching this for a while now. Do you guys have myanimelist.net accounts btw? RE: Anime Recomendations - Mjting - 08-31-2009 agrees to seirei no moribito. it was really good. RE: Anime Recomendations - J.E_Magog - 12-07-2009 Anyone tell me which one is worthy? GUNDAM 0083 STARDUST MEMORY COLLECTION PATLABOR 1 & 2 RE: Anime Recomendations - Lord_Leperman - 12-07-2009 Being a Gundam fan, I'll highly recommend Stardust Memories, as its one of the best Gundam OVAs ever made. You don't need to know anything about Gundam to watch and enjoy the series and the Mobile Armor battle between the GPO3 and the Neue Zeil in the end are one of the most awesome mecha duels ever. I forgot what happened to Patlabor 1 and 2 for me to recommend anything abut them though. RE: Anime Recomendations - J.E_Magog - 12-10-2009 I didn't have a choice after all! Wala silang kopya ng patlabor. 0083 has been good so far(except for the singing). Yung napanood ko lang kasi noon yung compilation movie. Ayus yung boost-hopping. Nakakapag taka lang, bat parang wala silang radar na gamit. Ang daming "bulaga i'm right behind you" during the battles. RE: Anime Recomendations - Fox - 12-10-2009 Hmmm, i don't really remember at this point but i think the reason why radar in the UC era isn't all that effective at close-range is because of the effects that the Minovsky Particles emitted by the mobile suits have on radar. I remember reading something about how most pilots tend to rely on visual identification and spatial awareness in order to locate their enemies. Or pwede din naman na utos ng direktor na hindi tumingin sa radar yung mga piloto para gulatin sila ng mga kalaban nila. EDIT - yeah, i think i was half-correct. http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Minovsky_particle#Minovsky_Physics RE: Anime Recomendations - enjoyincubus - 02-10-2010 Fullmetal Alchemist 2:Brotherhood ...definitely RE: Anime Recomendations - atdsutm - 01-14-2011 its back!!!!!!!!!!
