Slate has an article entitled, "People Who Sign-Up for Twitter, Post Once, and Never Return" An excerpt: Quote:Reading many of these one-offs, you can't help but wonder whether some tragedy has come between the user and his second post. RE: Twitter - Sforza - 10-01-2009 Lyoto Machida is on twitter http://twitter.com/lyotomachidafw RE: Twitter - Grim - 10-03-2009 Found out about this from Neil Gaiman. pbtweet is a cool little script that you run in your browser, and suddenly the Twitter webpage starts acting like TweetDeck without the need for any installing. You have auto-updating statuses, reply hierarchies, retweet buttons, image and URL previews, etc, etc. It's pretty cool and powerful. Right now, the only bad thing I can say about it is you need to reload it everytime you refresh the Twitter page. But you don't really need to do that unless you're really exploring other peoples' accounts, because the statuses come in automatically anyway. RE: Twitter - Grim - 02-17-2010 Status update of my friend. I'm very close to unfollowing her now. "Ash wednesday pala ngayon. Akala ko friday pa!!!" I did a real RE: Twitter - iraya-sama - 02-17-2010 http://twitter.com/irayasama DUN DUN DUN RE: Twitter - NiX - 02-17-2010 RE: Twitter - Grim - 03-06-2010 So earlier today, Conan O' Brien started following someone. This was his first follow. A few hours later, Sarah Killen (the lucky person) gets a new webcam, a new Apple computer, and almost $1000 donated to her for her upcoming wedding. Now people are even asking her if she needs videography services for her wedding. This is awesome. Conan is awesome. The cynical part of me kicked in a few minutes later of course (why only now? these people/companies giving out help are only doing it for the good publicity), but really sometimes people just need to be pointed to the right way. And I'm happy for her anyway, this kind of stuff must be exciting. |
