Pizza made from a whole pig. Watch the video. I think it's a bit disgusting...

Do you think this is a hoax?

Quote:Chinese chefs have come up with a way to keep a fish alive while deep frying it! It even keeps trying to breathe while waiting to be eaten and people pick at it!

i dont think it's a hoax.. it's been featured quite a lot of times in asian specialty cuisine shows. but it is creepy...

they showed it in discovery channel once, i watched it in HS

its, like, proof the fish they have is uber fresh and stuuf!

RE: The FOOD Topic. - NiX - 01-04-2010

Ok that made me slightly queasy. O_O I know that fish brain can't exactly process "pain" like we can. But still. O_O

RE: The FOOD Topic. - Fox - 01-05-2010

I know i'm supposed to go on a bit of a diet to counter all the weight i've gained over the holidays but i don't think i'm gonna go near any seafood dishes after watching that.

RE: The FOOD Topic. - Grim - 01-15-2010

The Case Against Ketchup, an interesting take on going without the ubiquitous red sauce on hamburgers.

Quote:In California, the "special sauce" that is perhaps the most defining characteristic of the Southern California model does contain ketchup, but the addition of mayo substantially changes the experience and makes ketchup unnecessary. In Texas, where beef is taken as seriously as any place on earth, ketchup is almost universally shunned. In neighboring Oklahoma, burgers with ketchup are derisively referred to as "Yankee burgers." At Louis' Lunch in New Haven, Connecticut—the claimed birth place of the hamburger—ketchup is banned from the premise and any attempts to smuggle some in will result in a ban for the culprit.

RE: The FOOD Topic. - Sforza - 01-15-2010

From the comments section on the link above:

Quote:The bottles that sit on the table all the time are the worst. How many times have you seen some dick who can't get the ketchup to flow? What does he do? He sticks a knife in the bottle to get the ketchup. And what if that knife is the same one he just used for mustard or to slice his sandwich or to scratch his ass with? And then that same bottle of nasty ass-scratched ketchup is there for you to use.
http://thebitchywaiter.blogspot.com/2009/12/ketchup-might-be-grossest-thing-ever.html

Quote:...They were wide mouthed bottles, so we didn't have the nasty knife-inserting suction breaking crap going on, but people still found a way to be disgusting. The nastiest thing ever was when a young mother and father were there with their 18 month old baby. The baby was fixated on the ketchup bottle, so they gave it to him and let him slobber all over the lid.

Once their food came out, they opened the nasty sticky ketchup bottle ... and then gave it to the kid. The kid spent the rest of their meal drinking ketchup right out of the bottle and drooling in to it. When they were finished, they put the lid back on the bottle and left. They didn't warn the server or do anything to stop the bottle from being put back on the shelf and served to someone else.

RE: The FOOD Topic. - Lord_Leperman - 01-15-2010

Personally, I can't stand burgers w/o ketchup. The only exception for me is was the time when I tried Mr. Jones' Superman Burger, with the chili infused beef where I lessened the amount of ketchup I normally put on a burger. Ketchup makes a burger better IMO, but exceptions are made for specialty burgers that derive their taste from the meat they use or the unique sauce they put in, which in this case I am obliged to sample the burger as is w/o anything added on it.

Speaking of burgers, does RR want another BYOB?

RE: The FOOD Topic. - Sforza - 01-15-2010
