- Goat - 08-30-2007 Naranasan mo na ba to Cabs? - cabs - 09-02-2007 Nope. Haven't encountered any of those yet, but I wish I might. The reason is the TV company that runs the show pays whom ever is lucky enough to be a victim of those pranks a generous amount of money. I'm not sure but I think its around 1M yen, this is to ensure that the victim would not press charges and as payment to allow the airing of the victim's embarrassing moments. Easy money IMO ![]() RE: cabs in japan - cabs - 09-29-2007 I went strolling again at the streets of nipponbashi this afternoon to check whats new especially the Kotobukiya store. All I found was uranus kits and a bunch of aliahs there. I was actually expecting to see pre-production models of up-comming ac kits, so I was a bit disappointed ![]() Found this instead: ![]() ![]() A tachikoma stuff toy ![]() After that, I went to other stores and ended up spending some Y's: ![]() Another eva t-shirt and a dvd case ![]() Heres a little trivia info: Sudden changes in temperature happen here in Japan overnight, like 1 day it is ~32 degrees then suddenly the next day it drops to ~22 degrees. ![]() RE: cabs in japan - cabs - 10-16-2007 here are some updates straight from the front lines ![]() A NEW MECH ARCADE GAME HITS JAPAN A new arcade game has just been released in japan and is immediately creating a scene. Following the successful game engine of the gundam seed union vs zaft I and II comes another fast phased, 3D action versus game named "Gundam vs. Gundam". As the title implies, this game contains beautiful chicks with "V" in their foreheads wrestling in a mud ring.......... ![]() The gameplay is almost the same except for the addition of a tag system attack and a destructive support (super weapon) attack. A massive collection of gundams and other mechs from both UC, AD and other eras like Ggundam are also made available. ![]() Photo: SEGA World in Namba, Osaka showing a long line of eager players wanting to try the game out. *If you want to see GundamZZ doing a spinning pile driver (like zangief's in SF) on another mech, this is the game for you. ![]() NEW AC KIT FROM KOTOBUKIYA Kotobukiya just released another Armored Core model kit, this time it is based on the AC4 TELLUS following the AALIYAH on the AC4 model kit series. It hit the shelves with a priced tag of 3900 yen, making it the most expensive AC model kit to date. ![]() ![]() Photo: Box Cover (top), Parts Information panel (bottom) *I didn't see this coming, no teaser posters or pre-production models were displayed on various shops before its production and even on the release date itself, no announcements were made which is totally different from previous releases. cabs, signing off ![]() RE: cabs in japan - azuma-blade - 10-17-2007 yan ka nanaman cabs wag mo ako ingitin dyan xD RE: cabs in japan - clonezero - 10-17-2007 di lang ikaw na iingit T_T RE: cabs in japan - azuma-blade - 10-18-2007 hehehe kala ko ako lng.... I would like to express my gratitude to the persons who've helped during these times (namely Adrian at Jolly) and to the ravens who have extended their sympathy. This just shows that the Republic is more than just your average forum group on the net, and which makes me proud to say that I'm a part of. Thanks guys! ![]() . . . Moving on with my life, I'm now back here in Japan. Back to deliver some info, sights, sounds and other trivial things about the country referred to as "the land of the rising sun" (the birth place of AC, if u like to call it ![]() ![]() The apartment where I stay at, just your average apartment in Japan i suppose ![]() ![]() The room where time has stopped ![]() Here is what its like outside at night (the temperature here now ranges from 0 to 7 degrees C., thats enough to make your ears and nose numb in seconds) Unto something more interesting: FOOD! ![]() Japanese Curry (official food of the Republic! ![]() ![]() Katsu-Kare (Tonkatsu and Curry) c/o Kamadoya (a bento take-out resto from accross the street) @Rick: You got to try this bro, nothing like the original. Completely different from what u can make out of those commercially sold curry paste. ![]() ![]() Anpan (Bean paste bread) Nothing beats eating freshly baked ones during these cold season. I think most of you are more familiar with them being fish shaped ![]() Next stop: Model Kits As u all heard, Bandai recently released a new Gundam model kit from their MG line. The Unicorn Gundam ver.KA ![]() They literally stocked up on this new kit in every mall, enticing me to buy one rather than the intended extreme burst destiny which I originally plan on buying. I'll post the juicy contents later ![]() ---------------------------- Thats all (for now ![]() RE: cabs in japan - NiX - 02-25-2008 Jay, I'd love to see you put all this in a blog.
