I'm not much for heroes. True, they get their praises sung but mostly they all die first. I may be a bit different but i never wanted to be a hero. I've always wanted to play a game that allows you to play as the vilain. Hey, saving the world is an everyday experience, why not try to wreck it for a change?
For me, there's just something so appealing in being a bad-guy. So here's a list of some of my favorite blow-hards. No real world villains because i just might end up insulting someone.
Liquid Snake - MGS, Snake's twin and perpetual pain-in-the-arse
Char Aznable - Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeon noble in hiding and well-known ephebophile
Rau Le Creuset- Gundam SEED, ZAFT commander and Char-clone
Albert Wesker - Resident Evil, STARS mole and poster-boy for Ray-Ban
The T-1000 - Terminator 2, cyborg assassin sent through time
Shishio Makoto - Rurouni Kenshin, former Hitokiri turned wannabe dictator
Ulic Qel-Droma - Star Wars, Old Republic Jedi turned mass-murderer,
Lobo - DC comics, bounty hunter and all-around psycho
Venom - Marvel Comics, Spidey's nemesis
Gendo Ikari - Neon Genesis Evangelion, NERV commander and winner of the "Worst Father of the Year, 2014" award.
Mugen - Samurai Champloo, illiterate prison escapee turned wandering menace to society (and women in general)
Sarah Kerrigan - Starcraft, Terran Ghost turned Zerg Queen-bitch
And the biggest badass of all...
Darth Vader - If you don't know where this guy is from, then you're in the wrong boards!

I'm more partial for real-life heroes myself. Flaws and all.
Dallaire comes to mind here.
He was a UN commander in charge of a contingent that was in the thick of the Rwanda Genocide of 1994. Drastically outnumbered and outgunned, his contingent still managed to succesfully protect roughly 20,000 Tutsi from being massacred by Hutu rebels.
Dallaire felt that he was at fault for not being able to do more. This eventually led to severe bouts with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression; He almost killed himself with medication and alcohol overdose in 2004.
He's since recovered, ans had become a speaker on the matter of human rights and genocide.
You gotta respect a man who's seen the depths of his own despair, and found the strength to crawl back up.
