Man attacked by jellyfish...25 meters above water.

Quote:A MAN has been stung by an irukandji jellyfish when he was splashed with seawater while fishing from a bulk carrier off north Queensland.

The 45-year-old Filipino man was in a "distressed and very agitated state" following the incident - which occurred 25 metres above sea level at Abbot Point north of Bowen late yesterday afternoon, the Courier-Mail reports.

The RACQ - CQ Rescue helicopter was tasked to the Singaporean-registered bulk carrier Konmax where crew immediately provided pain relief to the victim.

After some initial communication difficulties because of his distress, the crew was able to determine the patient had been fishing from the ship when the sting occurred.

Air crewman Geoff Abrahams said it was an "incredible case".

"Realistically, what are the chances of being stung by a jellyfish when you are safely on board a bulk carrier, 25 metres above the water," Mr Abrahams said.

"This is one of the most fascinating tasks I've worked on."

He said it was not clear if the jellyfish was in the water that splashed him or on his fishing line when he brought it out of the water.

Irukandji are very small stingers – measuring up to 2cm in diameter with four thin tentacles hanging down.

The victim was airlifted to Mackay Hospital where it was confirmed he was suffering the effects of an irukandji sting.

He is now listed as stable.

Classic: Chimp attacks man giving birthday cake to another chimp, rips man's balls off.

Quote:BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Mar 4, 2005 — A couple's plans for a birthday party for their former pet chimpanzee turned tragic when two other chimps at an animal sanctuary escaped from their cage and attacked. The man was critically injured with massive wounds to his face, body and limbs, and the attacking animals were shot dead.

The couple had brought Moe a cake and were standing outside his cage when Buddy and Ollie, two of four chimpanzees in the adjoining cage, attacked St. James Davis, Martarano said. Officials have not determined how the chimps got out of their enclosure, he said.

St. James Davis had severe facial injuries and would require extensive surgery in an attempt to reattach his nose, Dr. Maureen Martin of Kern Medical Center told KGET-TV of Bakersfield. His testicles and a foot also were severed, Kern County Sheriff's Cmdr. Hal Chealander told The Bakersfield Californian.
What the hell. Don't own fucking monkeys.
I went to this temple in Indonesia where there were signs all over warning tourists to watch their belongings because monkeys might steal them. This included glasses, earrings, water bottles, hats, and generally anything dangling. The monkeys live in the temple and roam freely there.

While we were there, I saw a tourist get his shades swiped off his head by a monkey who was near a high wall, and a monkey swiped a pastry from a kid who was eating it. Worse of all, they did group tactics on my cousin. One monkey rattled a water bottle on the bottom of a nearby baby carriage, making people look, while another monkey came up from behind and stole my cousin's glasses from his hand. He claims their grip was really strong.

They usually destroy anything they get their hands on, or play with them for a little bit before discarding them by throwing them down the mountain precipice.

They were the small type too, not as big as chimpanzees. Lesson: don't mess with the monkeys. Ninja
it reminds me of the monkey that poked my forehead when I was in grade 6.

eto pa mga ape related incidents. Brutal hehehe.

That is just fucked up man Wtf

Damn dirty apes!

12-foot dolphin attacks fishing boat

Quote:A fisherman has reported an encounter with a large bottlenose dolphin at an East Coast beach, adding weight to the suggestion that Moko is finding a new home in the Bay of Plenty.

John Clarke, from Taupo, was chased by the dolphin in Omaio Bay, northeast of Opotiki, on Saturday morning.

It was a similar size to Moko, with the same markings. The Department of Conservation could not confirm that Moko had reached the region, but his minders in Gisborne said the description was accurate.

Mr Clarke, 43, said he was fishing with his wife, Karina, 1.5km offshore when the ocean exploded.

"We saw this dark shape, it seemed 12 foot long under our 10-foot boat. I've never seen a dolphin that big." The dolphin chased his small aluminium speedboat, nudging it from behind.

Either that or 'Don't fuck with owning monkeys'
Moko the Dolphin has graduated to stealing surfboards and balls now.

Beach balls, damn it, not human balls!

Obese dog found frozen to a sidewalk slims down

Quote:SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. – A year after a "morbidly obese" dog froze to a Wisconsin sidewalk, the border collie mix has lost 40 pounds and is slowly returning to an active lifestyle.

Jiffy is still portly, but his owner said he's finally moving "like a regular dog." The dog weighed about 120 pounds when he froze to the sidewalk in December 2008 in single-digit temperatures. His dense layers of fat probably helped him survive.

Afterward a court ordered Jiffy's owner to give him up.

Patty and Peter Geise of Sheboygan Falls said when they adopted Jiffy, he could barely step over a 4-inch-high pipe. Even then he had to rest afterward.

The Sheboygan Press reported that now he walks a mile at a normal pace.

Patty Geise said it's rewarding to see how much Jiffy has improved. - AP
