Basically, the rumor stipulates that MS might be dropping the price of their new 60 GB Xbox 360 to the current price of their 20GB SKU.

Ergo, this Xmas might be a good time to buy that model.

Is there any way for a hacked 360 to go online without getting banned? That's about the only thing keeping me from buying a unit.

What do you mean by hacked? As in, can play pirated games? Are there 360s that can do this currently?

And can go on Live as well, but there's the risk of being banned in Live for the console's life if ever it is detected (there are ways not to be detected. The console unit itself is banned, not the account. So if you got banned, you'll have to get a new 360 to go back on Live again).

I believe DT's 360 is modded.

yep, my 360's moded, and been playin online 4 a week nao. As for the mod detection, the guy who installed the ROD prevent told me that you could get detected and banned for "anomalies" in you account(like wrong area number), aparently he's been on xb live for 2 years nao, and has never been banned.
