Apology accepted. I live in Tondo in the Philippines [pretty much the equivalent of where you're at] and swear a lot for no reason and very tactless in real life.
I learned how to watch what I type because there are no visual cues if the ones reading your post just shrugged it off or got offended.
I have a hard time fixing this irl because there's no backspace or delete key for words you've already said.

I remember watching that as a kid on Adult Swim and having very, very, very bad nightmares, like that scene were the purple unit turn into a monster and started eating the angels or what ever you called them, that was just scary for a 6 year old to see and that last episode where shinji was just sitting there asking all this weird stuff a child should not hear, and because of that I started to be paranoid about the end of the world for some reason, but anyways since I am older and have gotten over all of that I MIGHT go watch it and go clannad and try to get used to clannad's art style

If we base it off the art style, it does seem like you don't have anything very similar to Clannad, so point taken.
I got to watch NGE when I was 12. It was fun. But yeah, definitely not for kids of the single digits, my sister even stopped watching Sailormoon after that.

One of the most unfortunate things right now in anime is that most designs nowadays are too moe with the large eyes and cutesy, childlike characters.

We need more grit in our life, anybody agree?

Some of my favorites in no particular order are:

Berserk
Devilman
Hellsing
Neon Genesis Evangelion
and pretty much most of the late 90's and early 2000's Toonami/Adult Swim lineup.
