Armored Core Papercraft

Here are a bunch of Armored Core papercraft models made by a person known as 東雲 遠音, who has painstakingly created three different Armored Core models out of paper. Papercraft or Paper Models for those who are new to the hobby, is the creation of 3D scale models using nothing but paper (or card paper for a little more stability in the finished product), glue, and a cutter. Hobbyists print out pre-set patterns of the models (sometimes of their own creation) and after hours of hard work, a 3D paper model of the figure emerges.

Time consuming and somewhat difficult to do, Papercrafting is a labor of love. As 東雲 遠音 shows, it is also rewarding as he has created the basic starter AC from Armored Core Nexus, a GA SUNSHINE AC, and a SOLDNER AC from Armored Core: For Answer. He also created an X-SOBRERO core, but the remaining parts might have been discontinued due to the flimsy frame.

Watch videos of him assemble AC models from paper after the jump:

Someone Is Making A Tribute Album For Armored Core Soundtracks

Linka and Sophie listening to some AC tunes.

So far, he's making a damn good job at it. Mattias Häggström Gerdt is a freelance Swedish video game music composer who had a hand at developing music for various video games and music artists (what did you expect from a guy that had Viking war music in his bloodline?). Inspired by various Armored Core OSTs, particularly the synthesized vocals used in most soundtracks, he decided it was high time that a tribute album be made in honor of this unique method of music composition.

You can read his essay on processed vocals in Armored Core soundtracks (Prominent examples include Artifical Sky, Shining. Samples of which can be listened to after the jump) that got him started on this project. If you need a quick memory refresh on what synthesized vocals were like in Armored Core, hit the jump for a quick refresher on Shining form AC:N and Artificial Sky from AC3 as well as a sample of Mattias' awesome tribute album:

Now That’s An Armored Core: Foxeye Juggernaut

We really didn't know what to call it, and the name was just an impromptu of nicknames given by our forum members after witnessing the awesomeness of this issue of Now That's An Armored Core. At first glance, it looks like a heavily modified Foxeye, similar to what Jack-O was piloting in Armored Core Last Raven, but numerous changes clearly differentiate this unit from the game incarnation.

One can see the top-notch weathering effects on the model as well as the addition of little rectangular blocks, which we would assume to be pieces of Reactive Armor, painstakingly attached to the various joints and limbs of this unit, as well as a CAMS attached to the ATLAS core part in addition to additional weapons. See more pictures after the jump:

Dance Dance Armored Core

This video simply brims with an awesome display of fireworks, Kojima Particles, missiles and beams that can only come together in a carefully choreographed display of timing, positioning, and probably having a little too much time in one's hand playing Armored Core: For Answer, which leads to spectacular results. Simply put, a pyrotechnic and dance show unlike any other. Stuff like this makes synchronized swimming look like a joke.

Thanks Atdsutm for sharing this.

UPDATED: Most Awesome LEGO Mech Ever, And You Can Build One!

This here is probably the most awesome LEGO mech ever, and it's a Gundam! The attention to detail on this creation is just striking, with various double joints and a transformation sequence that rivals that of model kits WITHOUT removing any of the LEGO block parts. This just shows the amount of precision and passion involved with this work, not to mention that the creator also included the V2 Assault Buster Gundam parts as well. The entire building and transformation process after the jump:

Now That’s an Armored Core: Aaliyah Custom

Found over at Armored Core-Wiki. Looks like Nineball Seraph isn't the only awesome bird in the sky. This heavily modded custom Aaliyah made by "Riyu Mu" (ゆむ) looks like it can dominate the heavens and rule over the throne held by Armored Core's big bad guy. Safe to say, it'd be interesting what a four way battle will look like between this guy, Nineball Seraph, Crest Black Rain, and the Cronus Vestal. More pictures after the jump:

Most Awesome Toy Robot Ever

Ladies and Gentlemen, the future is now. This is the little robot that could, and this video just shows what it is capable of. I'm willing to bet that some of you wished you have gotten this for Christmas, otherwise just watch in envy at what this little I-Sobot can do including slicing a dinosaur with a sword, and shooting various projectile weapons at different targets. Right now, I am only hoping that Santa remembers my request for one.

Trinity, Help!

Remember the scene in The Matrix where Neo first displays signs of being the One? I think that was one of the first few scenes in movie history that really made good use of bullet-time effects.

Fast forward a few years later, and someone's made a tribute video. Not content to be mediocre however, it was decided that no fewer than 440 hours of work should be put in to make it. And that LEGO should be used as the building blocks of the recreation. We salute you, LegoMatrix.

As always, for more awesome Internet finds, head on over to the Project Awesome thread in the forums.

Volpin’s Props Make Me Salivate

AER9 Laser Rifle from Fallout 3

Show me a person who's played Fallout 3, and I'll show you someone who won't be able to resist this AER9 Laser Rifle replica. Heck I'm sure even some of those who haven't played the game won't be able to resist this. Just look at it! It's literally having the same damn thing (except it doesn't fry people to charred skeletons). This one, along with many other video game-inspired swag, was created by Harrison "Volpin" Krix. More samples of his work and links after the jump.

You'd wanna see this, trust me.
