An Unkindness of Ravens

A Nest for Ravens

Armored Core has always been something of a niche catering to the already-niche genre of mecha simulation. The Armored Core trilogy for the PS1 provided mech fans everywhere with the rare chance to build and battle with their very own customized mechs. As players got to know the game better, their skills improved along with their ability to design ACs. It got to the point where bashing the AI rankers wasn’t enough any more and nothing other than an equally skilled human opponent would suffice for competition. But as most AC players surely realized, finding people to play against, let alone skilled ones, was just as challenging as learning to play Armored Core itself.

The Unsung Warrior

ORCA Brigade leader Maximillian Thermidor’s personal NEXT is the next (pun definitely not intended) Armored Core to be immortalized in plastic model form, courtesy of model maker Kotobukiya. This kit is the twenty-seventh model to be produced for the Variable Infinity series, joining the likes of Supplice, White Glint and Noblesse Oblige from the Playstation 3 Armored Core games.

Names in Armored Core: Noblesse Oblige

When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. – Luke 12:48

Pilot: R. Leonhardt (AC4), Gerard Gendelin (Armored Core: For Answer)
First Appearance: Armored Core 4

I feel it is appropriate to do a background check on one of the more recent icons to appear in the Armored Core franchise, the Noblesse Oblige, in light of the announcement of its upcoming model kit.

Armored Core: For Answer 1.4 Regs Out!

Armored Core: for Answer regulation 1.4 has just been recently released for the PS3 while the Xbox 360 got its release a few weeks ago. Changes include a noticeable difference in quick boost handling of ACs, and various stat changes for AC parts and weapons.

New Game – Armored Core: for Answer

The majority of the Armored Core fanbase is abuzz with the new AC game that From Software has announced. What started out as a mysterious counter on the Armored Core site has now erupted into a full scale information feeding frenzy. Named “Armored Core: for Answer” (as far as I know, anyway), the game deviates from the usual premise of single player missions and eventually online versus by finally putting in what some fans have been clamoring for for a long time: coop missions. In huge, wide open spaces. Against huge, wide bosses/fortresses. With transforming mechs. Online.
