After what seems like forever, I finally decided to go and put up the wiki. Basically, I hope that in time this becomes an indispensable guide to Armored Core for both beginners and veterans alike, for whatever game in the series.
What that means is detailed stuff like stats and accurate timelines; something far deeper and more specific than what Wikipedia has now. Also, unlike the current state of information on AC where you have to search high and low on both well-known and obscure sites just to find the information you're looking for, I'm hoping we'll be able to collate them in one easy-to-navigate structure.
Given the open nature of wikis I'm hoping to snag a few of you ganados to write things for the place. I know you all know your stuff, so why not show it off?
Everything you might need to know about this newfangled feature is here.
Last June 28, we held the second Iron Fisticuffs tournament. Basically since we're now looking at other games to play each other at, things naturally turned to that genre which was birthed from the very idea of competition: fighting games. Specifically, Tekken: Dark Resurrection.
In any case, after a while when everyone was settled in, we got down to business. I saw 2 Kings, a Kazuya, a Bruce, a Lei, a Jin, a Hwoarang, a Baek, a Dragunov, a Feng and a Marduk. Matches were paced quite well, and the action was great.
By some stroke of luck, powerhouse DT was eliminated by fellow powerhouse AEA1. Nicely done, Doc, and thanks. Again.
It came down to a match between me and arch_angel's Jin "The Traveler" Kazama. The rounds went by, and before we knew it we were at the fifth and final round. As things would have it, he gave a low 4 which I sidestepped... and then my Marduk grabbed him. Bam, it was over.
It's weird though... right after I won I got terribly beaten all over the place by everyone. Also, this godly secret character by the name of Lloyd appeared. No one really won anymore after that. The Bryan 50-percenter was just too much for anyone to take.
Rest of the day and in-betweens were pretty much like any RR meet. A smattering of games: we had one big screen for the tourney, taken up by a PS3, an LCD in the other room, taken up by another PS3 (but really, just MGS4), and Nerese's 14-incher for playing AC PvP on the PS2. Doc brought his prawns as usual. And the food. How could one forget it. Glorious, glorious food.
PACT IV came eventually. And the action was good. We saw a mix of old timers and newcomers, and I think the rules held up well. No one brought anything that was too overpowering or cheap. Cheers to you, gentlemen.
Regarding the rankings, like I said in the forums, I couldn't for the life of me find out who placed third. So in the interest of fairness and laziness combined, we opted not to have one. Congrats to the new champ, Ethermaster_X102A! Congrats too to the runner-up, Moonlight_Raven.
Here's a vid of the finals. Although both of these guys have been long-time members of the forums, both were first timers in the tournament (three-time defending champ Lord_Leperman did not participate, unfortunately, and neither did three-time runner-up NiX).
Armored Core, while still the formal cause of the event, eventually took a backseat to Tekken. Even while the tournament was going on in one room people were in the adjacent one bashing heads around. I had the personal pleasure of being pounded to the ground by Sforza's Lili, arch_angel's Jin, and Doom Trigger's Dragunov.
But as everyone who went that day can attest, the real big thing in this meet was the massive amounts of prawns the good Doctor brought. Thanks for that Doc.
With each successive PACT the focus becomes less and less on AC itself and more on other games/things/stuff. No matter, it's still good times anyway. In the meantime, prawns!
Pictures of the day were pretty sparse, but you can view them here.
Calling all Ravens in the vicinity of Metro Manila!
PHILIPPINE ARMORED CORE TOURNAMENT IV
When: Moved to June 7, 2008.
Where: Sforza's residence in Makati.
Game: Armored Core: Last Raven (AC:LR)
Format: Tournament flow will follow a double elimination format as mentioned here.
Rules: A three (3) round format will be the used; 5 minutes per round (may be shortened to 3 minutes as per time constraints).
Standard PACT rules shall be applied, see here for more details.
Two (2) ACs with no repeating parts (except for optional parts) shall be allowed per person. The AC can use the same leg type, but not the same exact part (i.e. you can use tank legs for both of your units, but not the exact same tank leg part model) per AC, including internals and weapons.
A participant shall use one (1) AC against the opponent's other AC. The second round will force players to swap their ACs with the one in reserve. The 3rd round shall allow both participants to choose which ever AC they wish to use.
The scoring system using the AP score format will be retained. This format computes the total amount of AP left for the three (3) bouts for each pair of participants. The participant with the higher total sum AP after the three (3) rounds shall be declared the winner.
Random map selection.
Materials needed: PS2s, PS2 link cable, TVs, Controllers, Memory Cards, Copies of AC:LR/Tekken 5, other games you might want to play, food.
Just finished uploading about 150 megabytes of pictures to the gallery. High resolution wallpapers, screenshots and scans are there, alongside smaller thumbnails from the previous games.
Yes, I know I could have a lot more interesting pictures by lurking here and here but seeing as those are owned by other people and not FromSoft itself, I decided not to.
If you're only going to check out one area from the dozens of new ones, check out the Armored Core: for Answer screens and scans, which are mainly sourced from the AC Wiki. White Glint and that 1st Ranker blue AC are so beautiful in hi-res they make my eyes water.
false alarm, PSN was just down for maintenance . Sony implements banning of accounts usually for doing illegal stuff or by taking advantage of network glitches to cheat. They usually send a mail to your PSN inbox prior to the deactivation of your account, which includes the duration and reason of the said ban.
Jay, any reason why you think you'd be banned? Does PSN even ban people? I've googled the issue but I see both yeses and nos, and the yeses sound like they're retards and/or are joking.
