Most versions of Linux are free dude! That's why it's used by so many people nowadays, although still nothing compared to the number of Windows users. The one I chose was <a href='http://www.ubuntu.com' target='_blank'>Ubuntu</a> because of its famed reliability and ease of use. You can download ISOs of their files there, through torrents. Try looking <a href='http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download' target='_blank'>here</a>.
Admittedly, installation wasn't so pain-free, since I did erase my entire hard drive... but at least now I'm posting this from a virus and worry-free computer. Haha. I'll post some screenies of my new desktop when I snazz it up a bit.
