Great question. This was actually the source of a very long discussion on ACO long ago. They came up with some pretty creative theories, like canisters which contained the energy fired, the weapon damaging itself with every use (like our parry blade theory) and many others.

We really like talking about AC don't we. Tongue

Blah. I think it's because maybe they use slugs for ammunition. Reference would be Red Faction II's railgun. It uses energy cells to shoot, but instead it probably needs your AC's energy to activate, since energy weapons don't have generators themselves. Rofl

Haha. That was just my own opinion anyway.

Quote:Anyway how could every energy weapon has a limited ammo???? it uses energy.

En weapons have cartridges or battery that once exceeds the limit,it is rendered useless,Thus En weapons have limited use

Hey you're right Serene, it uses an Air Pressure, but how could an air move a heavy metal stick?????, I has thinking a parry blade that its ammo is infinite(By air, explosive,etc.).

Anyway how could every energy weapon has a limited ammo???? it uses energy. [/quote:124a3bb3a7]
wow. do you recall things like stem powered trains they were giant lovomotives that had a fire to heat the watertank that made up 90% of the ocomotive to produce steam that powered the thing to pull more than even moderen trans can pull.
and all that was nothing but "air" moving it.

on the energy weapons, my question was why they were free. i mean the limited ammo could easilly be because of a fuse like thing burning out after so many uses. but then the weapon should have like a price to be used. no mater how much ammo was expended you gotta replace that fuse between battles...

thats my 2 cents.

Haha. I get the feeling that maybe your weapon has its own energy (not just your ACs), which is its own ammo. You can use it a number of times consumed by a fixed value that depends on the gun's "cap". So it's like your AC's power gets used for firing while the gun makes the ammo which depletes their "own" energy.

That was just a wild guess anyway, probably doesn't make any sense. Tongue

EN weapons should be like the EN EO cores. Once depleted, they can recharge.

But like grimlok once said, its for the sake of balance. maybe thats why may ammo yung EN wewapons.

...uhmm.. why did they remove the "magazine" on back weapons, it will be pretty useful especially when your fighting an AC with super thick PA

Magazine on Back weapons??Is there even one??
But if there is one,it's pretty useless I think.

You know, lasers ignores PA,you should try that.

Actually, it's also possible that parry blades use a scematic similar to that of a jack hammer...
But much bigger and uses more powerful pressure...

On Energy Weapons:
I said this before at ACO...
It's possible that FROM used a lens theme for their energy weapons...
The stonger the attack power, the quicker the lens break, the lesser the ammo...
An energy doesn't have just one lens, but maybe a cartridge of lenses to further enhance its power or lifetime, as seen in the ROEs 1 and 2 extension parts...

Added that energy weapons have their own condensers...
The larger the condenser, the more higher the attack power, the heavier the weapon.
'Signatures are overrated.'

Yeah, but with that way, the lasers should have ammunition expenses. I wonder what's on Fromsoft's mind when they made these mechanics...

... probably JE's post. BALANCING ISSUES.

In AC4,lasers are weaker on longer range agreeing to the fact that lasers disappear with air.

yep, especially the one I'm using, shots 6 large lasers that completely ignores primal armor

from borrowed a lot of concepts from Front Mission. parry blades were one of them. they're called "pilebunkers" in FM. they work in 2 ways - one, using the momentum generated by the wanzer performing a punch-like maneuver and second, a cartridge is loaded at the base of the penetrating rod. once fired, the force of the explosion pushes the penetrator forward.

if you play FM3, you will clearly see a spent cartridge being ejected out of the pilebunker mechanism. in later titles though, you will hardly notice it.

Hmm, yeah, in FM4 the wanzer runs, while in FM3, I don't know, they just lock onto it, anyway how the other handguns, such as the Wraith is small, but has a much ammo, also some other weapons that is small, but has a much ammo.

Hey I did not thought of that, but the Extension, has these ammo, like AC Panzer Messiah.
My first impression of you was right

But there is still that needs to be done

We must hurry

Haha. You're right, I never noticed that a spent cartridge would come out everytime you use it. Tongue

I think one of the Linear Guns have it. Though it's pretty useless since the other Linear Gun (Evangel's) doesn't have one, yet it acts like a more efficient RL and the firing intervals of the two back guns when compared are actually insignificant. Mag reload time ruins it.

Quote:In AC4,lasers are weaker on longer range agreeing to the fact that lasers disappear with air.
Now Fromsoft has made something interesting that makes sense.

Quote:anyway how the other handguns, such as the Wraith is small, but has a much ammo, also some other weapons that is small, but has a much ammo.
It's probably because the ammo is also small. Tongue

Maybe EN EO cores had the chance to recharge because they get the EN supply from your AC's generator since it's directly connected to your AC's body unlike arm weapons, they're probably held just like that.
