Teh interesting (non-PHL-related) news stub thread
#1
The aim of this thread is to provide short links to strange/funny news stories as they appear on the Interweb. It has to be news or current events, so nothing like like top 10 manliest names or bible moments.

Link away!

I'll start with lists.

- Top 10 stupid criminals of 2007 (Neatorama)

- 2007's 10 Craziest Ways to Hack the Earth (Wired)

- Dating 2.0 picks up speed (Wired)

- Mind Gyms for Cognitive Fitness (BoingBoing)

- Japan is running out of food Sad (BBC)

- Kazakhstan forgets to spell check the word "bank" in currency (USA Today) - a bit old, but I'm sure Borat got a laugh out of it

About Tidbit #5: Japan's Running out of food.
About a year or two ago, in channel 7 -I forgot though if it was Reporter's Notebook or I Witness-
It was said that Japan produces only that amount of food due to lack of farmers, and is already trying to reduce the damage by hiring capable farmers from other countries like China and also from here in the Philippines.

Too much tech?
