Buko Joe, revisited.
#1
I realized I've never given Buko Joe another revision after I plopped him into LR, mainly cause I used a sniper in PACT II. Well then, here, another version of it using a frame I love and am more accustomed to:

Buko Joe

Core Frame:
S2 | UL2 | Macaque | Jaguar
0,0,6,4,0 | 0,0,6,4,0 | 0,0,7,3,0 | 0,0,10,0,0
Internal Systems:
Vulture2 | F73H | Lotus | Ananda
0,0,7,3 | ~ | 0,8,2 | 0,0,10
Armaments and Countermeasures:
- | Gar | RA | 69M | 81G | HP | - | 69H
Optional Enhancements:
Amino, ES, SS, EC, L+, Codon, Marishi
Paint Scheme:
General: 50,50,150 | 50,50,50 | 20,30,50 | 100,150,200 | 70,70,70
Weapon Color:
Black | Black | Red | Black | Black

This version takes notes from such designs as Angel Eyes and Hellraiser, and also takes into account all the suggestions for improvement I received on the first version. The 81G's replaced the B3 as the "payoff" weapon, mainly on the counts of getting more hits with it, having greater stun, being less easy to dodge, and overall just being a better jousting weapon.

Urchins aren't there anymore as they aren't as effective as I hoped, but I could add them back if I feel like it.

Rest of the AC's pretty standard stuff.

Looks good to me. The only way it'd be better in my eyes is if you put it all on an underweight DINGO2 (LOL, don't). Other than that, I'd use LOTUS+VULT2 for safer OBing and more jinking possibilities. I've kinda lost faith in LR GULL. -_-

Haha. Dingo2 would make it too much like another winning design, and I can't have that as one of my "mainstay" ACs. Besides, I've really, really, really taken a huge liking to them Jaguar legs, for reasons which are not entirely clear. Rofl Just joking, they look beautiful.

You know, I originally planned to have the awesome Birdie2 + Fudoh + Hazel2 combo here, but weight restrictions won't permit it. Anyway, you're only in trouble with Gull if the opponent locks on to you in the air or from really close, both of which I hope to avoid. I'll see about the Vulture2 when I get playing again.

I really think you could use a much bigger gun like the BP, since it is a great compromise between the 81G and the B3 with extra ammo to boot. You could try fitting it in by equipping a radar equipped head and dropping the back mounted radar and downgrading the missiles to the RM so that you can equip the massive gun.

I did try the BP, interestingly, and I liked both for their godly attack power and accuracy, but I ended up with the 81G. A wanzer-variant of this would definitely have a BP.

EDIT: Tried it out, it only takes three max weight tunes to fit in the BP without having to change anything else. I'd take a hit of 7 points in shell defense for about 3000 extra killpower on any day, thanksverymuch.

Still, I like the 81G. It's right up there with the Jaguar as one of those irrational loves you get for cetain parts. Tongue

Maybe you could rename it to "Big Bad Buko Jowe/y!" Smile)

The BP + HP/69H has more than enough firepower for most ACs in my experience.

One last additional suggestion which is totally up to your play style is to change the GULL into the VULTURE2. The change will allow you to "hot start" your OB and can be pretty useful in emergency situations where your opponent has you trapped and need a low-risk escape method and can also be used in CQ without any risk at all (low heat during startup even when boosting), not to mention the VULTURE2's higher acceleration will aid your dodging ability. The only drawbacks would be the significantly higher boost drain and lower overall top speed, both of which are 2 things that lightweight pilots try to avoid however.

NECRO POST.

I just wanna say that I now have a much greater appreciation for this design and many others like it. Tongue

I've changed my mind about GULL. XD It can stay for as long as you're comfortable with it. But yeah, Vult2 definitely seems to be the best choice here since this is a jouster.

Oh and it's a really pretty AC too.
