If it wasn't you who posted, it was going to be me. Tongue

I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the series, as word of both 2D and pseudo-3D is floating around. I'd prefer for 2D though.

Character or storywise, they haven't released much either.

Since I was at Gametrailers I decided to yonk the teaser vid real quick.

<object classid="clsid:d<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=26535"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=26535" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>

I heard that they're going to employ the same brush stroke/cel-shaded effect that was in the vid on the characters themselves, all while keeping it in a 2D plane. Sounds interesting, although I just can't quite visualize it yet. I await to be amazed.

Some big big controversy is going down over some posted (leaked?) pics of the game. I'll let ya'll find out for yourself (Kotaku lost this one it seems), but the point is we have a HADOUKEN!

Ziff Davis sure is a gigantic jackass of a corporation. EDIT: Well... It's justified, I guess.

EDIT: Wow editor-in-chief na pala ng EGM si Dan Hsu. Hahah asenso ah.

EDIT: It's to be set in between Street Fighter 2 and 3?!?! Hay nako Capcom ang gulo na nga ng continuity ng Street Fighter eh...

You bet, chief.

Yo Twin, you still working for QJ.net?

This is from them: http://ps3.qj.net/Street-Fighter-IV-upda...aid/109157

Quote: * The game will still have the same 2D perspective, but with additional 3D camera flourishes (in keeping with the stylized 3D visual style).
* Four original Street Fighter characters are confirmed to make their return, namely Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dhalsim.
* The six-button controls are back, and with its return a mostly-intact moveset with a lot of new additions.
* New locations, new special moves, new game systems.

* Street Fighter IV's visual style has more to do with making it look good, rather than making it photo-realistic. Art direction is key.
* Street Fighter IV runs at 60 frames per second.
* Online Play is included.
* The game takes place after Super Street Fighter II Turbo and before Street Fighter III.
* Character roster will be made out of many old characters and entirely new ones.
* Two new female characters are making their debut in Street Fighter IV.
* The stage in the current screenshots is Chun-Li's stage from Street Fighter II.
* Parry System is replaced with Saving/Revenge system. No details about this yet.
* Supers are still there, along with a new auto-combo system called Ultras. It's like a custom combo, but with predetermined moves.
* Shen Long may appear in the game. Yes, THAT Shen Long.
* Platforms aren't confirmed yet, but with online play, it's a safe bet that Xbox 360 and PS3 are two of the consoles. Capcom may or may not be putting out test machines in Japan arcades in Q2 next year.

SHEN LONG!!!!

No more parries though.

Actually I think it's quite a step down from Third Strike, graphically. The whole cel shaded look doesn't feel right with SF.

Right now the game isn't receiving much love from the hardcore SF community. Some don't like how everyone, even the females, have that blocky, overly-muscled feel to them, which I can't blame them for saying - I mean even the toes of these models must have biceps or something. Most don't like where the new system of no parries is taking the series. Some have already made up their minds not to play this EX "spin-off".

Regardless, Capcom continues to provide us with high def screenshots, like this set of the original four Shadoloo bosses. Tiger uppercut!
